DUNDEE — Eula M. Bethard, 84, of Seneca View S.N.F. formerly of Dundee, died Thursday February 12, 2009 at Schuyler Hospital in Montour Falls.
There were no prior calling hours. A private graveside service was held at Bath National Cemetery, Bath with Pastor Fletcher Brothers officiating.

Eula was born Feb. 13, 1924 in Beckley, W.Va., the daughter of the late Hiram and Veenie Jane Joines Irwin. She graduated from Beckley High School in 1942. On Feb. 14, 1943 in Fort Meade, Md. she married the late Billy D. Bethard; he passed away on Nov. 3, 1997. They had lived locally since 1996, previously of Waterloo and Syracuse. Eula was a Chef and Pastry Chef for The Pinarama Restaurant in Oswego, and retired from The Locke Restaurant in Fulton in 1985. She was an avid bowler in her younger years, and always loved cooking, baking and making wedding cakes.
She is loved and will be missed by her daughter Cheryl J. (Richard) Siegfried of Lakemont, three grandchildren Sarah (Joel) Cope of Lakemont, Jesse Siegfried of Rochester, and Mary (Michael) Rosenberger also of Lakemont; a brother Sherrill Irwin of Greenville, N.C., two sisters Sue (Hobert) Helmindollar of Reno, Nev., and Charlotte McKenzie of Lakeland, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Beside her parents, and husband she was pre-deceased by five sisters.

PRATTSBURGH — Lester F. “Rusty” Busby, 70, of Fairgrounds Road, Prattsburgh, died Wednesday, February 11, 2009.

DUNDEE — Leo F. Cadwell Jr., 85, of Carpenter Lane, Penn Yan, formerly of Dundee, died Sunday February 15, 2009 in the comfort of his home.
Friends my call from 1-3 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 18 at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water St., Dundee; where a funeral service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 3 p.m. with Rev. Lucinda O´Leary officiating. Burial with full military honors will be held in the spring at Hillside Cemetery, Dundee.

Leo was born Jan. 21, 1924 in Dundee, the son of Leo F. Sr. and Jennie Cornish Cadwell. He graduated from Dundee Central School in 1941. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1942 to 1945 during World War II. On Dec. 3, 1983 in the town of Starkey he married the former Carol L. Andrews.
He was an Assistant Supervisor, employed for 33 years by Columbia Gas Energy, of Rock Stream, until his retirement in 1985. Mr. Cadwell was a former member ofthe Dundee American Legion Bradley-Jessop Post #660. In his spare time, he was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, bird study, and creating wildlife habitat, having personally planted over 1,000 trees. He collected coins, stamps, and liked to bowl.
He is loved and will be forever missed by his wife of 25 years, Carol L. Cadwell at home; a son, Barry K. Cadwell of Starkey; daughter, Amy L. Francione of Dundee; three grandchildren, Ryan M. Cadwell of Sacramento, Calif., Brianna S. Budd of Dundee, Debra Battin of Bluff Point; Carols children, James Tuttle and Ruthann Schenck, both of Dundee, Debra (Craig) Litchfield of Columbus, N.C., one brother, Ernest (Sylvia) Cadwell, two sisters, Jean Inscho and Mary (Robert) Crans, all of Dundeeand numerous nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by two brothers, Benny and Robert Cadwell.

DUNDEE — Louise M. Clark, 91, of Dundee, formerly of Geneva, died Sunday February 15, 2009 at Geneva General Hospital, in Geneva.

Louise was born Aug.16, 1917 in New York City, the daughter of Joseph and Cecelia Ingenito DeLuca. She was the proprietor for many years of Charles Schwenk’s Tavern in Union City, N.J.; and Clark’s Tavern in Clifton, N.J. Later in life she became a clerical worker employed by State Farm Insurance Company in Butler, N.J., retiring in 1979.
She has lived locally since April 2008, previously of Henrietta, St. George, Utah, and Coconut Creek, Fla.
She is survived by two sons, Denton H. (Annette) Schwartz Jr. of Milton, Vt., Robert A. (Hui) Clark Jr. of Losgatos, Calif., one daughter Carol A.(Thomas) Fiorilla Sr. of Dundee; eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; a brother Sal (Adrian) Deluca of Toms River, N.J.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by her husbands Denton H. Schwartz Sr., killed in action during World War II on Sept. 1, 1944; Charles J. Schwenk on June 23, 1955; Robert A. Clark Sr. on July 21, 2007 and a son Ronald C. Schwenk on July 23, 2008.

RAYMOND C. ''RAY'' HENDRICK
PAINTED POST — Raymond C. ''Ray'' Hendrick, 54, of Painted Post died unexpectedly on Thursday February 12, 2009 at home.

Raymond was born July 31, 1954 in Penn Yan, the son of the late Howard C. and Ida Patricia Dencenburg Hendrick. He graduated from Dundee Central School in 1973.
On Aug. 17, 1974 in Corning he married the former Mary C. Dolley. He lived in the Painted Post area for 20 years. He retired in 2005 after over 25 years of employment at Corning Glass Works, in Corning. Ray was an active member of the Corning Fish & Game Club member of the Friday Night Archery League and a Life Member of the North American Hunting Club. An avid sportsman, he absolutely loved hunting, fishing, archery, and the outdoors. He enjoyed riding his ATV, and bowling.
He is loved and will be missed by one son Raymond Thomas "RT" (Melissa McChesney) Hendrick; a daughter Peggy Lynn (Nick Marsiglio) Hendrick, both of Corning; a brother Rick M. (Beth) Hendrick of Beaver Dams; a sister, Tara S. Boudinot of Dundee, two nieces, Danielle (Jason Forcier) Hendrick, and Heidi L. Allison; his long time two best friends, Bob Webb and Rich Pulver; several cousins and numerous friends.
He was pre-deceased by the mother of his children, "Cathy" Hendrick on Oct. 20, 2001.

DUNDEE — Wanda J. Kruger, 58, of Highland Drive, Dundee, died Monday, February 6, 2009 at Geneva General Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14 at Weldon Funeral Home in Penn Yan.

Wanda was born April 12, 1950 in Vicksburg, Mich., to Sherman and Mary Ellen Clark Ballman.
She loved cooking and baking and organizing fundraising events. She especially loved her parrot (Birdie).

PENN YAN — Marion E. Morse Morrow, 88, died Tuesday, Feburay 10, 2009 at the Homestead in Penn Yan.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14 at the Weldon Funeral Home, East Main St. Penn Yan. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.

Marion was born Aug. 15, 1920, the daughter of Earl and Lola Austin Morse. She was a member of the United Methodist Church for 75 years.
She is survived by a son, Roger Alan (Gail) Morrow of California, a daughter, Sandra (Christopher) Morrow Sotak of Massachusetts and grandchildren Derek (Priscilla) Sotak, Onalie and Michael Sotak.
SHIRLEY ANN FOX-RYMAN
LA MARQUE, TEXAS — Shirley Ann Fox-Ryman, of La Marque, Texas passed away peacefully at 3 p.m. on February 12, 2009 in Tyler, Texas.
Viewing will be at noon on Tuesday, Feb. 17. The funeral will be at 2 p.m., at Crowder's Funeral Home, 401 Texas Ave., La Marque, Texas 77568. Burial will be at Hayes Grace Memorial Park following the funeral.
Shirley was born Jan. 27, 1931 in Penn Yan. Shirley was a cheerleader in her Penn Yan high school and loved life and watching birds and wildlife. She also loved watching sports. She moved to Texas at age 19 after marrying Fred.
She was a homemaker who wrote a weekly column for the La Marque Times newspaper. She was also involved in the La Marque Little League, Boys Scouts of America and the Elks Ladies Auxiliary.
Shirley is survived by her children, Pamela Ryman-Moir of Tyler area, Dana Ryman of La Marque, Darryl Ryman of La Marque, and Jeff Ryman of Tomball. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; three brothers Dudley, Wesley and Charles Fox, all of New York.; a step-daughter, Sandra Stringer; step grandchildren Sean Stringer and Kimberley Hendee and family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Fred E. Ryman; a grandson, Chad Ryman; brothers Bob and Pete Fox; sisters Jean Fox Edith Fitzsimmons and Norma MacAlpine and her parents Gladys Valentine Fox, and Dudley N. Fox, all of Penn Yan.

Albert was born Oct. 7, 1941 in Canandaigua, the son of Albert H. Sr. and the late Mildred Irene Tomion On July 26, 1991 in Canandaigua, he married the former Suzanne F. Sterling. They have lived locally since 1994. Al was a self employed flooring expert, specializing in tile and ceramic floors, owner of Al Schojan´s Tiling, of Rochester, he retired in 1995. He was a former member of the Rochester Eagles Club; enjoyed woodworking, building model aircraft, and loved to hunt, and fish.
He is loved and will be dearly missed by his wife of 17 years Suzanne F. Sterling-Schojan at home; three sons, Albert H. Schojan III of Rochester, Allen J. (Karen) Schojan Sr. of Dundee, Kevin M. Schojan of Buffalo; two daughters Cheryl M. Schojan of Rochester, Tanya M. (Michael) Trevett of Henrietta; his father, Albert H. Schojan Sr. of Fairport, 18 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; four brothers, Bruce, Howard, Paul and Marvin Schojan; three sisters, Linda Morrison, Gail Lewis, Pat Dugarth; the mother of his children, Eileen Stevens of Albion, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by his mother and step-father Mildred, and "Spider" Marshall.

DUNDEE — Daniel A. Sirek, 48, of Dundee, died unexpectedly on Friday, February 13, 2009 at home.

Daniel was born March 11, 1960 in Milwaukee, Wisc. the son of the late George and Barbara Jilek Sirek. He graduated from Eisenhower High School in Milwaukee, Wisc. in 1978and went onto graduate from Milwaukee School of Engineering with a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering.
On Sept. 4, 1998 in Dallas, Texas he married the former Catherine E. “Cate” Fowler. They have lived locally since 2000, previously of Dallas. He was employed by Schweizer Aircraft, of Big Flats.
Dan will be remembered for receiving the Friend of 4-H Award in 2007 from Schuyler County. He was an aspiring Alpaca farmer, enjoyed gardening, bon fires, and was an avid Green Bay Packer Cheese Head, and NASCAR fan.
He is loved and will be profoundly missed by his wife of 10 years “Cate” Sirek at home; one brother Doug (Mary) Sirek of New Berlin, Wisc.; and several nieces and nephews whom he absolutly adored.
JOSEPH ANTHONY SUDOL
DUNDEE — Joseph Anthony Sudol, 79, of Dundee, died Monday February 9, 2009 at John Randolph Medical Center, Hopewell, Va.
There are no prior calling hours. A memorial service with inurnment in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee will be held at the convenience of the family in the spring on a date to be announced.
Joseph was born Aug.16, 1929 in Passaic, N.J., the son of Anthony and Karolina Sudol. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1947. He honorably served his county in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
On July 3, 1955 in Dundee he married the former Betty J. Brewer. He has lived locally since 1947, previously of Passaic, N.J. He was employed as an Electrician by Seneca Machine Shop of Seneca Falls, for several years until his retirement in 1992.
Mr. Sudol was a member of St . Andrews Catholic Church; a 32-year member of the Dundee American Legion, an avid bowler in his younger years and a voracious reader his entire life.
He is loved and will be missed by his wife of 54 years, Betty J. Sudol at home, a son James (Adele )Sudol of Prince George, Va. and three grandchildren, Anthony, Samantha and Tabatha of Prince George, Va.

PENN YAN — Rita Agnes Sullivan, 92, of Penn Yan, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2009 at the Homestead Nursing Home.

Rita was born on April 18, 1916 in Penn Yan, the daughter of James M. and Sarah O’Connor Sullivan. Rita is survived by her nephews, Gerry (Linda) Shriver, Ely (Pat) Shriver, Ann Shriver, and Eric (Carol) Shriver; her cat Lily and many great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her niece, Rita Cook.

RICHARD VANHOUSEN
PHELPS —Richard VanHousen, 77, of Phelps, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2009, at the Clifton Springs Nursing Home surrounded by his family.
Family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20 at the Townsend-Wood Funeral Chapel, in Penn Yan. A memorial service in honor of Rich with the Rev. Barbara Gifford, officiating will begin at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery this spring.

Rich was born May 25, 1931 in Penn Yan, the son of Roy and Anna VanHousen. He served his country during the Korean War with the U.S. Navy August 1950 through June 1954. He was employed with Ferro Corp in Dresden and was a barber in the family barber shop on Lake Street in Penn Yan. He had his pilot license and enjoyed flying small planes. He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol and a Shelter Inspector in the 1960s. Rich was a member of the Penn Yan Volunteer Ambulance, the American Legion Post #355, and the Moose Lodge.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Gladys Keech Johnson VanHousen, his son, Daniel (Donna) VanHousen; stepchildren Cindy (Mike) French and Dan (Laura) Johnson; grandchildren David and Deena VanHousen, Michelle French Grillone and Mike Grillone, Christina and Dominick French, Amanda, Cole and Ben Johnson; great grandson Hudson Grillone; sister Cathy (Gary) Fitzpatrick, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Delia VanHousen Stark in February 2008, brother Lawrence VanHousen and his niece, Jeanette Fitzpatrick.

WILLIAM VOIT
RUSHVILLE — William Voit, 96, of Barefoot Bay Fla., died Friday February 6, 2009 after a brief illness.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. July 11, 2009 St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Rushville to celebrate the lives of William and Madeline and burial will be in in St. Theresa’s Cemetery in Stanley.

Mr. Voit was born in Germany and came to this country in 1921. He raised his family and ran a successful barber shop in Rushville , where he was charter President of the Rushville Lions Club.
He retired to Barefoot Bay in 1974, where he enjoyed his love for golf.
He is survived by sons, Louis Voit of Abilene, Texas, Paul Voit of Newark and Barefoot Bay; daughter Dorothy Johnson of Barefoot Bay; brother George Voit; sister, Mary Morris; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents, Josef and Emma Voit; beloved wife of 52 years, Madeline Bliss and brothers Conrad, Joseph, Frederick and Robert.
PEGGY M. WINKEMEIER
PENN YAN — Peggy M. Winkemeier, 76, of Penn Yan died Saturday, February 14 at the Homestead.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19 at the Weldon Funeral Home, East Main St., Penn Yan.

Peggy was born March 10, 1932 in Charlottesville, Va. to Robert D. and Lois Dae Wingo McCraw.
Peggy loved gardening and remodeling as well as refinishing furniture. She loved the library, was an avid reader and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and playing Scrabble.
She is survived by her daughters, Carol (Floyd) R. Price of Baldwinsville, Cathy D. Claire of Penn Yan; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren; a brother, Ray C. (Liz) McCraw of Dundee; a niece and a nephew.
