Carlton E. Elling, 77, of Geneva died Saturday, March 13 after a brief illness. There were no prior calling hours. A private burial was held at the family's convenience in Bellona Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Carl was a 1950 graduate of Penn Yan Academy and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1954. He was an engineer with Bell Telephone for over 30 years. He is  survived by his wife of 52 years, Marlene; sons, William, Bruce and Scott (Karen) Elling; daughter, Laura (Robert) West; grandchildren Matthew, Claire and Elizabeth Elling, and Lena West; step-grandchildren Joanna and Kevin Nichols, and nephews David Barnes and Philip (Mary) Barnes.

Carl was predeceased by his parents, Elizabeth and William Elling, his sister, Doris (Rusty) Barnes and a brother, Lawrence Elling.
