Kathleen “Peg” Christensen, 93, very peacefully passed on Sunday, January 31, 2010at The Homestead in Penn Yan.

Family and friends may call from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3 at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham, with a funeral service following at 11:30 a.m.. Interment will be in Bellona Cemetery.

The family request memorials to Camp Good Days and Special Times, 58 West Lake Rd., Branchport, NY 14418.

Kathleen was the daughter of Thomas and Maude Buckle. She spent most of her life in the Benton and Bellona Station area.

Kathleen was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, as well as a wonderful homemaker and a great cook. She was a strong person, taking care of her family while her husband, Wes, recovered from TB after World War II.

Kathleen married Wesley Christensen on June 7, 1939. They had two sons, Alan (Judy) of Penn Yan, and Gary (Elaine) of Franklin, Ind.

She had two grandchildren, Janie (Greg) Emerick of Columbus, Ind. and Dana (Charity) Christensen, of Raleigh, N.C..; four great-grandchildren, Caroline and William Emerick and Abby and Sam Christensen; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Jean Taylor and husband, Wesley.
