ELIZABETH C. "BETTY" BAY
RUSHVILLE — Elizabeth Allen (Caron) Bay, died peacefully on Sunday, June 7, 2009, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m.Thursday, June 11 at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham. A graveside committal service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 12 at 2 p.m. at Rushville Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, June 12at the Middlesex United Methodist Church, 1162 Rte. 245.

Betty was born in Rochester on September 23, 1934, the only child of Robert B. and Ada Tinklepaugh Allen. She graduated from Naples Central School in 1952 and received her teaching degree in 1955 from SUNY Brockport. She retired “to be a grandmother” from the Marcus Whitman Central School District, after 34 years.
Betty was active in the United Methodist Church of Middlesex. She was past president of the Rushville Tuesday Club, a member of both Ontario and Yates Counties Retired Teachers Association, a member of the New York State Retired Teachers Association, past president of Ontario County Republican Women’s Club, a member of the Gorham Historical Society, the Literary Ladies Book Club, “The Lunch Bunch,” the Fenogowone Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, former Literacy Chair of Lake Counties Council, New York State Reading Association, the Yates County Gu-ya-no-ga Chapter, DAR and a former member of the Town of Gorham Republican Committee.
Betty was past president of the Omega Chapter of The Delta Gamma Society International, where she was honored at the June meeting with the “Woman of Distinction” award.
Betty is survived by her husband and parter on Bay Farms of 51 years, Thomas J. Bay; two devoted sons, Tod of Adamstown, Pa. and Joel (Peggy) of Canandaigua; three grandchildren, Christopher, Patrick and Timothy Bay; sister-in-law, Ruth (Leigh) Clark; sisters-in-law, Donna and Norma Bay; cousins, nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents; her stepmother, Evelyn Allen; and brothers-in-law, Sheldon Milton and Kenmore (Joan) Bay.
JOHN BREZINSKY
KEUKA PARK — John Brezinsky, 84 of Keuka Park, passed away at home with his wife and son Daniel by his side after a long illness, on June 1, 2009.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 5, 2009, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Norton Chapel, on the Keuka College campus in Keuka Park, where John’s Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Robert Ring officiating. A private family internment will take place at the Keuka Park Cemetery immediately following the ceremony.

He was born October 21, 1924 in Olyphant, Pa., the son of John and Anna (Prislopsky) Brezinsky.
During the depression he relocated to Prattsburgh with his family. After graduating from high school he began his career at Keuka College at age 15. World War II commanded his attention and he went traveling with the Army to North Africa and Italy, finishing his tour of duty in 1946.
Upon his discharge, he resumed his career at Keuka College as Food Service Director until 1974. He then became co-owner of Herr Jensens Steamboat Restaurant with Keith Davis until 1985. His retirement years were filled with tennis, horse racing, travel, family and catering "events".
John is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Mugger (Darlene/Dee) Brezinsky, children, Catherine (Glen) Palesch, John J. (Jean) Brezinsky, Richard (Terri) Brezinsky, Timothy (M.K.) Brezinsky, and Daniel Brezinsky, grandchildren, Mindi, Kristi, Katie, Tim, Jeff, Tom, Joe, Emily, Lori, Bonnie, Julie, and Maggie, seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Olga Welsh, Bets O’Mara, and Irene (Daniel) McDonald, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
John was pre-deceased by his first wife, Janet Brezinsky in 1970.

JANICE M. CONAWAY
RUSHVILLE — Janice Conaway, 60, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Friends called Saturday, May 30 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Rushville Fire House, 14 Railroad Ave., Rushville. A memorial service followed at 5 p.m.

Janice was the first female firefighter in the Rushville Hose Company. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, cross-country skiing and was active at the Canandaigua Curves.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph F. Conaway; son, Todd (Tessa) Conaway; daughter, Julie (Kevin) Knaak; six grandchildren, Brie, Kody, Keegan, Kaleb, Austin and Sean; mother, Carol Austin; brother, James (Linda) Austin; mother-in-law, Florence Conaway; brother-in-law, George (Bonnie) Conaway, Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father, Walter Austin; and her father-in-law, George Conaway, Sr.
MARK G. DICKERSON SR.
WAYNE — Mark G. Dickerson Sr., 86, of Wayne, died unexpectedly Monday June 1, 2009 at Geneva General Hospital, Geneva.
Friends may call from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, June 13 at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water St., Dundee. A private memorial service will be held at a later time with Rev. Lucinda O'Leary officiating. Inurnment will be in Wayne Village Cemetery.

Mark was born May 16, 1923 in Addison, the son of Delbert and Florence Wilson Dickerson. He entered the U.S. Army during World War II on February 2, 1943, being honorably being discharged on Nov. 17, 1945. On July 30, 1943 in Campbell, he married the former Alma Smith. She passed away, after 65 years of marriage on Dec. 21, 2008. They had lived locally since 1961, previously of Troupsburg. Mark was a self-employed dairy farmer, as well as a long time employee of M.J. Ward & Sons Feed Company of Bath. He retired in 1989. A devoted family man, he enjoyed hunting, and fishing.
He is loved and will be dearly missed by seven sons Mark G. (Marlene) Dickerson Jr. of Savona, Wayne E. (Carol Ann) Dickerson of Wayne, Dale R. (Linda) Dickerson of Pulteney, Bruce R. (Carolyn) Dickerson of Painesville, Ohio, Michael L. (Donna) Dickerson of Fredericksburg, Va., Brian K. (Diana) Dickerson of Alturas, Fla., Scott A. (Cassandra) Dickerson of Watkins Glen; and three daughters, Patricia A. (Robert Sherwood Jr.) Empson of Dundee, Kim E. (Michael) Graffeo of Marion, and Laurie J. (Patrick) Trank of Himrod; 29 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Bernice Shauger of Corning; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two brothers, three sisters and two grandsons, Richard and Philip Dickerson.
JOSEPH E. GUSCIORA
ALTAY — Joseph E. Gusciora, 96, of Altay, died Saturday May 23, 2009 at the Bath V.A. Medical Center in Bath.
There were no prior calling hours. A memorial mass will be held at 2 p.m. Monday June 15 at the Bath VA Chapel, with Father Marcellinus Uwandu officiating. Inurnment will follow in Bath National Cemetery.
Joseph was born Aug. 21, 1912 in Passaic, N.J., the son of Adam and Mary Maciag Gusciora. On Nov. 29, 1941 in Passaic, N.J. he married the former Rose Marie Pryzwara. He proudly served from 1941 to 1945 in the U.S. Army during World War II; as a member of the 35th Field Artillery, and the 481st Anti-Aircraft Automatic Weapons Battalion.
He has lived locally since 1952, previously of Clifton, N.J. He retired in 1975 after over 20 years as a Parts Administrator with National Home Corp. of Horseheads. Mr. Gusciora was a very active member of St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, in Bradford, having served as an usher, and Eucharistic Minister. Joe was also a former member of the Watkins Glen VFW, and was a former Assessor for the Town of Tyrone. In his younger years, he enjoyed training pigeons, breeding and raising canaries, and loved gardening. He will be remembered in Clifton, N.J. as a famous bartender at the family business Gus’s Tavern, where he personally organized the local Shuffle Board League.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 67 years, Rose Marie Gusciora at home; two daughters, Rosemary A. (James) Myers of Endwell, and Dorothy two grandchildren James (Tammy) Myers of Auburn, Marisa A. Myers of Endwell; two great-grandchildren Lauren Rose Myers and Nathan A. Myers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by a sister, and three brothers.
Arrangements are by the Baird Funeral Home 36 Water St., Dundee.
BERNICE I. HANSEN
GENEVA — Bernice I. Hansen, 92, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2009 at the Geneva Living Center North.
There will be no prior calling hours. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 23 at 10 a.m. at the McGuigan Funeral Home, 45 High St., Geneva. The Rev. Ellen Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Bellona Cemetery

Bernice was born on Oct.5, 1916 in Pittsford, Vermont the daughter of the late Napolion and Hattie Blake Baker. She retired from the Hulse Manufacturing Plant and was a former member of the West Lake Road Fire Association Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by a son, Donald (Jane) Hansen of Geneva; a daughter, Shirley Mulligan of Windham, Maine; grandchildren, Kris Martin, Eric Hansen, Nancy Bailey, Howard Mulligan and Robert Mulligan; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Bernice was predeceased by her husband, H. George Hansen.
CLARENCE "DAY" WATSON II
PENN YAN — Clarence “Day” Watson II, 70, of Penn Yan, passed away Monday, June 1, 2009 at Highland Hospital in Rochester.
Friends and family may call from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2009, at the Townsend-Wood Funeral Chapel, 201 E. Elm St., Penn Yan, where a prayer service will be offered. Additionally, prayers will be offered on Monday, June 8, 2009 at 1 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery in Penfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Day’s name to the National Kidney Foundation, 3505 E. Frontage Rd., Suite 315, Tampa, Fla. 33607.
Day was born in Rochester, on Febr. 12, 1939. Day was raised on the family homestead on Watson Road in Fairport, where he enjoyed farming for almost 50 years. He was employed as mail carrier for the Fairport Post Office, and as a bus driver for the Webster School District and for the Penn Yan School District.
Day is survived by his long time companion, Ila Tomeno of Penn Yan; his children, Clarence Day “Skip” Watson III and Bradley Watson, both of Fairport, and Abram (Denise) Watson of Webster; granddaughter, Brittany Watson and many dear and special friends. In addition to his parents, Day was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Fox Watson.
