CARLTON WILLIAM BURT
FREDONIA — Carlton William Burt, 86, of Fredonia, died Thursday June 25, 2009 in Brooks Memorial Hospital Dunkirk, with his loving family at his side.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday June 30, 2009 at 11 a.m. in First Presbyterian Church of Fredonia. Rev. Cynthia Wickwire-Lundquist pastor will officiate.
Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery Penn Yan, New York at the convenience of the family.

He was born June 21, 1923 in Penn Yan, the son of Howard C. and Louise (Bellis) Burt.
He graduated from Penn Yan Academy in 1942. Mr. Burt served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII from 1942-1946 with the 538th Bomb Squadron with flights in B-24’s and B-29 Bombers.
On Oct. 23, 1949 he married his loving wife of over 59 years Marva (VanDusen) Burt, who survives.
He was a vineyardist in Penn Yan from 1946-1957, raising many different varieties of fruit. Carl attained the rank of Eagle Scout and was registered in the Boy Scouts of America from 1935 to the present. In 1957, he graduated from the 205th National Training School of Boy Scouts of America and served as a Professional Scout Executive in five various councils throughout New York State. He retired in 1985 as Field Director of the Allegheny Highlands Council BSA Headquarters in Falconer.
Besides his wife, a daughter Vanessa (Roger) Volk of Fredonia, his two grandchildren Andrew B. (Jeanie) Volk of Silver Creek, and Emily A. Volk of Fredonia survive. His two great grandchildren Caleb D. Volk, Addison M. Volk, both of Silver Creek, a sister Pauline Culver of Penn Yan and several nieces and nephews also survive.
His parents, and a sister Virginia Bishop predeceased him.

JEFFREY S. HEALEY
TYRONE — Jeffrey S. Healey, 34, of Tyrone, died accidentally in a motorcycle accident Monday June 22, 2009 in the town of Campbell.
Friends and family were invited to come and share in a celebration of Jeff’s life starting at 1 p.m. Saturday June 27, at the home of Susan Healey 4655 Bailey Hill Rd. (Town of Tyrone) Dundee.
Jeffrey was born Aug. 24, 1974 in Coudersport, Pa., the son of Donald H. Healey and the former Deborah Axmacher Healey. An entrepreneur, Jeffrey was the owner of Steel Promotions, a promotional advertising company of Corning. Jeff was an avid sports fan, with a passion for the Pittsburgh Penguins. He loved gardening; riding motorcycle; and lived every minute like it was his last.
He is survived by his step mother, Susan M. Healey, with whom he made his home; his mother, Deborah Grove of Johnstown, Pa., two sons, Ayden and Austin Healey of Johnstown, Pa., paternal grandmother Doris Healey of Nelson, Pa., maternal grandparents Benny and Olga Axmacher of Johnstown, Pa., his loving partner Nancy Horner; and two special friends, Lou Carpenter, and Francesco Banca.
He was pre-deceased by his father, Donald H. Healey and a sister, Teri Dawn Healey.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee.
ROSE MARIE FARINELLI LOVETTE
WILLARD — Rose Marie Farinelli LoVette, 83, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on June 22, 2009.
Her Mass of Christian Burial took place in Penn Yan at St. Michael’s Church at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 29, 2009. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her favorite charity St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial and Honor Program-F, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105-1905.
Rose was born May 16, 1926 Benton Center, the youngest daughter of Costanzo and Beatrice (Tarallo) Farinelli. She moved to Penn Yan shortly after her birth, and then to Interlaken, where she raised three daughters: Michele Vance of Klamath Falls, Ore.; Denise LoVette (Ardon Ulmer) of Ovid; and Renee LoVette of Hayward, Calif. Rose then moved to Willard in 2003 to be close to her daughter, Denise.
Rose loved to devote her time to her five grandchildren. She loved to play cards, games, cook and many other activies with her grandchildren.
In addition, Rose was employed until 1997 as a cafeteria and teacher’s aide at South Seneca Central School, Interlaken Elementary. She also volunteered as a Girl Scout leader for 22 years and library attendent for Interlaken Library. Rose was recently active with Auxillary 72 to the Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War, Camp DG Caywood in which she was a member for 20 years and also serviced two terms as auxillary state president.
Rose was predeceased by her sister, Mary Keough, and brothers, Martin, Peter John (Pete), Carl (Albert), Costanzo (Gus) and John.

ELLEN C. NOWAK
BENTON —Ellen C. Nowak, 55, of Benton, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at home.
Family and friends are invited to call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at the Townsend-Wood Funeral Chapel, 201 E. Elm St., Penn Yan. A memorial service will be held for Ellen at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ellen was born on Jan. 14, 1954 in Canandaigua, the daughter of the late Arthur and Eleanor Carmichael.
She is survived by her husband of 27 years, John Nowak; sister, Mary Beth (Dennis) Hart; brother, Albert (Jan) Carmichael; mother-in-law, Barb Nowak; father-in-law, Jack (Kathy) Nowak; sisters-in-law, Bernice (Aaron) Lack and Molly (Tim) Turner; brother-in-law, Ted (Eileen) Nowak and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

SHIRLEY M. POLLACK
DUNDEE — Shirley M. Pollack, 81, of Beardsley Road, Dundee, died unexpectedly Sunday, June 28 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
Family and friends may call at Weldon Funeral Home, East Main Street, Penn Yan from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, July 1. A funeral service will be held at noon. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Dundee. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
Shirley was born Feb. 13, 1928, the daughter of Mathew and Christine Bach Simpson. She is survived by her husband, Michael; six sons, Michael J. (Teena) Paul (Cleo), and Mark (Dawn), all of Dundee; Tom (Sharon), of Tucson, Ariz. Geoff (Theresa) of Elmira and Rodney Pollack of Goshen; daughters Diane (Donald Schuelke) Hoffman of Wisconsin, Helen Hobart of Himrod, Teresa (Alan) Gottshall of Penn Yan; three brothers, Gilbert (Ida) Simpson of New Jersey, Wally (Shirley) Simpson of Pennsylvania and Randy Downs of Nyack; a sisterMarla (Joseph) Fredell of Virginia. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, as well as a brother, George Simpson and a sister, Beatrice Wellman.
WILLIAM and MADELINE VOIT
RUSHVILLE — A graveside committal service for William and Madeline Voit will be held Saturday July 11, 2009 at 10 a.m. at St. Theresa’s Cemetery, Stanley. A Memorial Service to celebrate their lives will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Rushville. Friends are also invited to a reception at noon in the Parish House next door to the church.

William Voit had a barber shop in Rushville. He and his wife, Madeline, retired to Barefoot Bay, Fla., in 1974. Madeline died on Dec. 12, 1989, and William died on Feb. 6, 2009.
They are survived by sons, Louis (Barbara) Voit of Texas, Paul (Mary) Voit of Newark,; daughter, Dorothy Johnson of Florida; William’s brother and sister, George Voit and Mary Morris; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
