Dora M. Howell, 88 of 109 Walnut St., Penn Yan died Monday, Aug. 9, 2010 at the Homestead Nursing Home.

Calling hours for Dora will be held, Friday, Aug. 13 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Second Milo Baptist Church where a memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. 

In lieu of flowers, Dora's family requests donations be made to the Second Milo Baptist Church stained glass window fund.

Dora was born on June 17, 1922, the daughter of Perry W. and Sylvia Phillips Randall.  Dora lived for 30 years in Rochester, where her husband Charles worked at Rochester State Hospital.  All of their children were born there.  Dora worked at Stromberg Carlson and retired in 1972, after which they built their retirement home on Chubb Hollow Road.

She was a member of the Penn Yan Grange, Yates Pomona Grange, Rebekah Lodge #465 of Dundee and Second Milo Baptist Church, where she held many offices over the years.  She worked as a volunteer at Penn Yan Manor Nursing Home and the Once Again Shoppe.  She also held office in the Dundee Alumni Association for several years.

Dora is survived by her children; Martin R. Howell of Yakima, Washington, Janet Howell (Greg) Wolfe of Rochester and Randall P. (Bonnie) Howell of Dundee; sister,  Daisy Randall Hall of Penn Yan; brothers,  George Randall of Horseheads and Charles P. Randall of Montour Falls; grandchildren Luella Howell, Amanda Howell, Jaclyn Howell, Matthew M. (Katie) Wolfe and Mark Wolfe.

Arrangements are being handled by the Weldon funeral Home.
