CHARLES L. ANSLEY
ROCHESTER — Chales L. Ansley, 82, of Rochester, died Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at Highland Hospital.
A funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 18 at Weldon Funeral Home, East Main St., Penn Yan.
Burial was in Branchport Cemetery.
Charles was born Jan. 8, 1927 in Prattsburgh, the son of Charles E. and Anna Peighley Ansley.
He is survived by one brother, Clarence (Helen) Ansley of Penn Yan, three sister, Juanita Lindstrom, Mary Scranton and Margaret Flynn, all of Penn Yan, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predecesed by a sister, Mable Frank.
NORMA E. BANACH
PENN YAN — Norma E. Banach, of Penn Yan, passed away at home on Friday, June 19, 2009.
Family and friends called from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 22, 2009, at the Townsend-Wood Funeral Chapel, 201 E. Elm St., Penn Yan. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in Penn Yan, with Father Robert Ring officiating.
Burial will take place following at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Penn Yan.

Norma was born on April 24, 1928 in Napanoch, the daughter of Walter and Stella (Kidney) Allison. She was a member of the Penn Yan Fire Department Ladies Auxilary. She also loved cooking and sewing in her spare time.
Norma is survived by her husband of 59 years, John A. Banach, daughter, Bonnie (Pat) Halferty, son, John “Skip” (Sandy) Banach, grandchildren, Stephen and Shannon Halferty, Tim, Rebecca and Joe Banach; brothers, Kenneth and David Allison and several neices, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her sister, June Allison, brothers, Ronald Allison, Harry Allison, Walter Allison, and Vernon Allison.

RICHARD DONALD DALE
GLOBE, ARIZ.— Richard Donald Dale, 85, died at Copper Mountain Inn in Globe on June 14 after a long illness.
Private services celebrating Richard's life were held on Sunday, June 21.
Richard was born in Newport, N.H. He moved with his family to Penn Yan, where he finished high school and joined the Navy in 1943. At the end of WWII, he relocated to Gunnison, Colo. to attend Western State College, majoring in geology.
After college, he returned to Penn Yan and married the former Barbara Newland. He was employed first at Penn Yan Boats and later at the Greenidge Power Station in the chemistry lab.
In 1961, Richard moved his family to Globe, Ariz., where he was employed by Magma Copper Co., Inspiration Copper and finally, the U.S. Geological Survey. After retiring in 1987, he purchased the Apache Vanadinite Mine and worked it, along with his son Mitchell, until his health started failing in 2003.
Richard is survived by his wife, Barbara, of Honolulu, Hawaii; a son, Richard II, of Albuguerque, N. M.; Sandi (RoyceAnne) (Mrs. Gary Keiffer) of Vigliano D'Asti, Italy; Allen, of Higley, Ariz. and Mitchell, of Globe, Ariz.; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several neices and nephews.
GENEVIEVE A. FOX
PENN YAN — Genevieve A. Fox, 84, of Collins Ave., Penn Yan, died Saturday, June 20 at Keuka Comfort Care Home.

Genevieve was born July 11, 1924, the daughter of Frank and Blanche Stedman Kapushet. She is survived by her husband on 67 years, Wesley J.; sons Robert (Sheralyn) Fox of Penn Yan, Ronald (Mary) Fox of Rochester and Donald Fox of Ontario; one daughter, Patricia (Peter) Schlappi of Dundee, nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Geraldine Jaeger, of Oaks Corners, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Vincent and Volney.
MARY MARVIN
MIDDLESEX — Mary Marvin, 76, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2009.
Friends called from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Wednesday, June 17 at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham. A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 18, at the funeral home. Rev. Owen Corcoran officiated. Burial was in Overackers Cemetery.

Mrs. Marvin is survived by five children, Earl (Brenda) Williams, Sarah (David) Yeoman, Sharon Rought, Cora Marvin, and Bobbi Jo (Raymond) Wagner; and by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Marvin in 2008.
ERNEST E. SCHUTZ
PRATTSBURGH — Ernest E. Schutz, 63, of State Rte. 53 South, Prattsburgh died Friday, June 19, 2009 at home.
Friends and family may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, June 22, 2009 at the Bottoni-Wood Funeral Home, 4 Mechanic St., Prattsburgh. Services with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at Rural Cemetery in Prattsburgh.
Ernie was born Dec. 5, 1945 in Bath, the son of the late Ernest and Neva Nageli Schutz Crabtree. He was a life long resident of Wheeler, a graduate of Prattsburgh Central School and a veteran of Vietnam serving in the U.S. Army from 1965-1967. Ernie was employed until retirement as a lineman for Verizon in Hornell. He was a member and past secretary of the former Prattsburgh Bowling League, a member and past master of the Prattsburgh Masonic Lodge, and the parade captain and yreasurer for the Prattsburgh Protectives serving with the fire department for 44 years.
Ernie is survived by his wife of 32 years, Delilah Gowin Schutz; his children, Thomas (MariLane) Wheeler, Wendi (Tom Dibble) Tarr, and Jacquelyn (Brandon) Filkins; nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and several special cousins.

MARK R. TOMION
FERGUSON CORNERS- Mark R. Tomion, 51, died unexpectedly Friday, June 19, 2009 at his home.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday June 23 at 7 p.m. at the Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home in Gorham. Burial will be in Shuman Cemetery.

Mark was born in 1957 in Penn Yan. He was a graduate of Marcus Whitman High School, Class of 1975. He attended Ithaca College.
Mark enjoyed playing the piano and reading. He was an inventor and was working on a windmill as an electric generator, on which he had a patent. He was the author of the book, “Star Drive”.
He is survived by his parents, Wesley and Lorraine Drew Tomion; his brothers, Christopher L. Race and John Wesley Tomion; his sister, Teresa K. Tomion; his friend Kathleen; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

WATKINS GLEN —Mary F. Wasson, 64, of Watkins Glen and Belleview, Fla., died Thursday, June 11, 2009 at McGraw Hospice Center in Jacksonville, Fla.
Friends and family may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at the Haughey-Wood Funeral Home, 119 Fifth St., Watkins Glen. A celebration of her life will be held at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Friday, June 26. Interment will be at Beaver Dams Cemetery in Beaver Dams.

Mary was born June 30, 1944 in Montour Falls, the daughter of the late Sarapheno ‘Sar’ and Agnes Bianco Sr. She married Gael Wasson, Jan. 29, 1966 and were married for 30 years. She was a member of the Montour Moose Lodge #426.
Mary is survived by her children, Wallace (Lori) Wasson of Burdett, Andrew (Roxanne) Wasson of Mooresville, N.C., Julia (Jeremy) Ponn of Warrenton,Va., and Robert Wasson of Beaufort, S.C.; grandchildren, Johnathan Wasson, Hayley Ponn, and David Ponn; sister, Pamela (Gordon) Dennis of Watkins Glen; sister-in-law, Diane Bianco of Watkins Glen; longtime partner and friend, Gene Thorpe; nephew, Mark Bianco of Watkins Glen; niece, Jennifer Bianco of Watkins Glen; and nephew, Merrill Squiers of Chelsea, Mich.
In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband, Gael and her brother, Sarapheno ‘Butch’ Bianco, Jr.
