As the regular season end approaches, the Penn Yan Mustang and Marcus Whitman Cross Country teams competed in multi-school meets last week.

The Mustang teams traveled to Honeoye for a meet featuring Penn Yan, Mynderse, Williamson, and host Honeoye. The course was at Ontario County Park. For Penn Yan, the highlight of the day was another first place finish by Sona Dobronova in the girl's competition. This was her fourth 1st place finish out of five this fall.

Coach Rick Smith also reports the Penn Yan girls team took third place this past weekend for large schools at the Cuba Rushford Invitational, where they competed with schools from New York and Pennsylvania. Dobronova took first overall with a time of 20:34.

The Marcus Whitman harriers traveled to St. John Fisher for a meet with Red Creek, Sodus, Wayne, and host East Rochester. The Wildcat boy's team came in first place in this competition. Gabe Stash finished in first place while teammate Aidan Royston grabbed the second place finish.

The Mustang boy's team is in 5th place in the Wayne Finger Lakes East with a 9-11 record. The Orange and Blue girl's team is in 4th place with a 12-6 record. Marcus Whitman is in the Wayne Finger Lakes Central. Their boy's team holds down first place with an 18-1 record. The Wildcat girl's team is in 3rd place with a 7-10 record.
