Penn Yan 55 Waterloo 50

The Penn Yan Mustang boy's basketball team registered their first Finger Lakes East League victory on the season, defeating Waterloo 55-50 at home Wednesday evening. This was the second time this season Penn Yan downed the Indians. They defeated Waterloo in the Waterloo Hall of Fame Tournament in December. But that win was considered a non-league victory. The two teams will meet once more in Waterloo in a couple of weeks.

Desmond Battin topped Penn Yan's scoring sheet with 19 points. Dylan Stape tossed in 11 points and Junior Cade Curbeau added 8 points.

The Mustangs are 6-5 overall this season. They will host the Geneva Panthers on Friday. 

Marcus Whitman 84 Naples 66

The #7 ranked Marcus Whitman Wildcats continued to roll this season. The Wildcats defeated Naples 84 -66 in Gorham Wednesday evening to improve their record to 7-2. Whitman is in first place in the Finger Lakes West League.

The high-powered Wildcat offense was sparked by Jon Donovan's 19 points. Nick Young added 18 points and 6 assists. Riley McLoud tossed in 15 points and hauled down 11 rebounds. Burlin Allen scored 13 points and accounted for 10 rebounds and 7 assists.

Dundee 54 Red Jacket 40

The Dundee Scots kept pace in the Finger Lakes West League with a 54-40 victory over Red Jacket in Manchester Wednesday night. The Scots improved their season record to 7-3, and are right behind Marcus Whitman in the FL West standings.

John Clancey led the Scotsmen in scoring with 17 points. He also pulled down 16 rebounds. Wylie Hall tossed in 14 points for the winner.

Girl's Basketball

Penn Yan 51 Waterloo 24

The Penn Yan Mustang girl's basketball team continues their winning ways in the Finger Lakes East League. The Penn Yan girls rolled over Waterloo 51-24 in Waterloo Wednesday evening. The Orange and Blue five registered their 4th league win of the season in 6 games. They remain in striking distance of the top spot in the league with the schedule moving down its homestretch. Penn Yan is 6-4 overall.

Wednesday's Penn Yan victory was led by Hannah Keech. She scored 13 points. Elissa Callaway tossed in 11 points while Lizzy Lafferty added 8. Emily Wunder and Sydney Bloom contributed 6 and 5 points respectively for the Mustang girls.

The Penn Yan five will travel to Geneva Friday night for another key FL East contest against the Panthers.

Marcus Whitman 38 Naples 35

The Marcus Whitman Wildcat girl's basketball team traveled to Naples on Wednesday night to face off against the Big Green in a Finger Lakes west matchup. The Whitman girls defeated Naples 38-35 in this contest. Jordyn Chappelle led the wildcats with 11 points and also recorded 9 rebounds.

Red Jacket 64 Dundee 35

The Red Jacket girl's basketball team easily defeated Dundee 64-35 in a Finger Lakes West game played in Dundee Wednesday evening. MacKenzie Strait was Dundee's top scorer with 14 points.

High School Bowling

Penn Yan 7 Geneva 0

The Penn Yan Mustangs boy's bowling team continued their nearly perfect season Wednesday afternoon in Penn Yan. The Mustangs shutout Geneva 7-0 at Lakeside Lanes in Penn Yan to improve their season record to 49-2. The dominant Mustangs are in first place in the Finger Lakes East League.

The Orange and Blue kegler victory was led by Steven Ottaviano. He rolled a 3 game total 674 series including games 231, 213, and 225. Bryce Johnson rolled a 630 series (231-225) and Alex Gurba added a 625 series (195-236-194).

Geneva 5 Penn Yan 2

The Geneva Panther girl's team defeated Penn Yan 5-2 at Lakeside Lanes Wednesday afternoon. Emilie Thomas topped the Penn Yan scoring sheet with a 550 series (200-189). Kari Ayers added a 507 series (169-196) while Emily Augustine contributed a 415 series.

Penn Yan's season record now stands at 23-26.
