In a battle for the top spot in the Finger Lakes West League, the Dundee Scot boy’s bowling team fell to Bloomfield 2 ½ to 1 ½ in Dundee Jan. 3. In the tightly contested showdown between two of the top bowling teams in the league, the Scots were edged out by less than 50 total pins, 2,677 to 2,629. The teams ended up tied in the first game, 879 – 879. Bloomfield won game two and Dundee rebounded to take game three. The Bloomfield victory keeps them in first place in the league by 4 points. Dundee’s record now stands at 23 ½ and 12 ½.
Colin Goodman led the Scots on the scoring sheet with a 621 series including single games of 215-202-204. Connor Much added a 201 single game while Jared Hartman added a 191.
Dundee Girls 4 Bloomfield 0
The Dundee Scot girl’s bowling team shutout Bloomfield 4-0 in Dundee Jan. 3. The Scot Lady bowlers picked up 1,689 total pins to Bloomfield’s 1,497 sweeping all three games. The shutout victory moved Dundee to within 1 point of Bloomfield for third place in the Finger Lakes West League. Dundee’s season record stands at 16-20.
Edele Morgan rolled a 431 series (148) to lead Dundee to the key win.
Marcus Whitman 60 Red Jacket 48
The Marcus Whitman Wildcat boy’s basketball team remains undefeated in the Finger Lakes West League. The Wildcats improved their league mark to 5-0 Jan. 3 in Shortsville with a 60-48 win over Red Jacket. Whitman used a 13-0 run in the third quarter to salt this latest victory away. The Wildcats are 8-2 overall.
Marcus Whitman was led in scoring by Riley McLoud with 21 points. Ten of his points came in the pivotal third period. Jon Donovan added 11 points.
