Pal-Mac 50 Penn Yan 42

The Penn Yan Mustang girl’s basketball team dropped a 50-42 decision to Pal-Mac in Penn Yan Jan. 19. After an even start that saw the visiting Red Raider girls take on 2-point first quarter lead, Pal-Mac eased away to the 8-point victory. Penn Yan falls to 5-3 in Finger Lakes East action with the loss. They are 7-6 overall this season.

Senior Sydney Bloom topped the Mustang scorers with 16 points. Ashley Sisson added 10 points while Emma Harling tossed in 10 points.

Hornell 64 Penn Yan 56

The Penn Yan Mustang girl’s basketball team dropped a 64-56 decision to Hornell in a non-league contest played in Penn Yan Jan. 17. The defeat dropped Penn Yan’s season mark to 7-5 overall. They are 5-2 in the Finger Lakes East.

Senior Sydney Bloom led the Mustang girls in scoring with 18 points. Emma Harling added 12 points while Jenna Curbeau chipped in 11 points.

South Seneca 59 Dundee 22

The South Seneca Falcon girl’s basketball team handed Dundee a 59-22 loss in Ovid Jan. 19. The loss was Dundee’s 10th loss in Finger Lakes West League play. They are still searching for that elusive first win of the season. The Scots are 0-12 overall.

MacKenzie Strait once again was Dundee’s top scorer. She scored 9 points in this setback to the Seneca Lake Falcons.

Marcus Whitman 68 Dundee 29

The Marcus Whitman Wildcat girl’s basketball team easily defeated Dundee 68-29 in Gorham Jan. 17. Whitman improved their Finger Lakes West record to 5-4 with the win. They are 7-5 overall. Dundee falls to 0-9 in West League play and are 0-11 overall.

Jordyn Chappelle topped the Wildcat girls in scoring with 28 points. She also pulled down 8 rebounds. Ari Beverly added 13 points and 7 assists. Emily Thompson chipped in 12 points and also added 6 rebounds. MacKenzie Strait accounted for 16 of Dundee’s 29 points.
