The Penn Yan Mustang and Dundee Scot bowling teams faced off in an All-Yates County match at Brock Bowl in Penn Yan Jan. 25. The afternoon would prove to be a time of shutout wins, one for each team. The Dundee Scot boy’s blanked the host Mustang team 4-0 and the Penn Yan girl’s team return the favor defeating their neighbors 4-0.

In the boy’s match, Dundee picked up 2,877 total pins to Penn Yan’s 2,741 enroute to their 4-0 victory. Alec Champlin led the Scots with a 620 series (174-180-266). Collin Goodman added a 585 (196-172-217) while teammate Lucas Bowden chipped in a 576 (235-181). Jared Hartman also rolled a 514 (202) for the Scotsmen. The Mustang boys were paced by a 628 series from Zack Blauvelt which included single games of 191, 214, and 223. Jon Mashewske rolled a 551 series (202-217) while Trenton Samatulski added a 523 series (189-177). Dundee improves their season record to 47-16-1. Penn Yan falls to 33-23.

The Mustang girl keglers had an aggregated team score of 2,399 total pins to Dundee’s 1,692. The Orange and Blue bowlers swept all three games to run their season record to 44-12. Dundee is 30-34.

Kari Ayers topped the Mustang scoring sheet with a 646 series (232-203-211). Emily Augustine added a 484 (171-164) while Brandee Ellis rolled a 426 (179) for Penn Yan. Edele Morgan was Dundee’s top bowler rolling a 379 (140). Samantha Hunt added a 347 (141) and Mercedez Roy a 334 for the Scots.

Marcus Whitman Boys 3 Wayne 1

The Marcus Whitman Wildcat boy’s bowling team defeated Wayne 3-1 at Roseland Bowl in Canandaigua Jan. 23. The Wildcats picked up 2933 total pins to Wayne’s 2795. The Wildcats scored wins in games 1 and 2. Josh LaBarr topped the Wildcat scoring sheet with a 636 series (223). Ian Underwood added a 613 (221). Whitman improves to 57-3 with the victory.

Marcus Whitman Girls 2 Wayne 2

The Marcus Whitman Wildcat girls team fought to a 2-2 tie with the Wayne girls. Wayne edged the Wildcat girls 2,022 to 1,933 in total pins. Whitman scored wins in the first 2 games to gain the tie. Sydney Davis rolled a 465 series (165) to lead the Whitman team. Marcus Whitman is 18-42 this season.
