The #2 seed Penn Yan Mustangs (17-5) will play #3 seed Livonia (17-5) at 8:15 p.m. tonight, Feb. 27 at Marcus Whitman High School for the right to advance to the championship game at Blue Cross Arena in Rochester. The winner will play the winner of tonight's 6:30 p.m. game between #1 Mynderse (19-3) and Greece-Odyssey (15-7).

The Marcus Whitman Wildcat boy’s basketball season came to an end Monday, Feb. 26 in Bloomfield. The Whitman Wildcats faced off against a very talented Northstar Christian Knight team in the semi-finals of the Section V Class C1 tournament. The #1 seed Knights entered the contest with a 21-1 record while the #5 seed Wildcats sported a very good 17-3 record. The contest started off well for the Whitman boys as they jumped out to a 11-10 lead after one quarter. But the Knight offense began to flex their scoring muscle as the game progressed. Northstar Christian grabbed a 26-21 lead at the half. A 23-15 Knight run in the 3rd quarter sealed the deal. The Knights rolled to the 66-42 victory and a punched their ticket to the Class C1 final on Friday night in Rochester.

Senior Riley McLoud, in his final game as a MW Wildcat, scored 11 points to lead the Whitman offense. Junior Jon Donovan added 9 points. Seth Benedict, Ben Stone, and freshman Ryan Herod chipped 6 points each. The Wildcats end their tournament run and their season with a 17-4 record.
