The Penn Yan Mustang boy’s lacrosse team improved their season record to 5-2 with a convincing 17-1 romp over Livonia-Avon in Livonia April 24. The high-powered Mustang attack scored 9 goals in the first quarter to quickly seal the winning deal. The Orange and Blue laxers built up a 14-0 lead at the half and cruised to the win in the final two quarters.

Ayden Mowry paced the potent Mustang attack with 5 goals and 2 assists. Austin Blumbergs and Conner Fingar both chipped in 4 goals. They added 2 and 3 assist respectively. Dylan Stape added 2 goals and an assist. Max Brodman also netted 2 goals. Devon Gerhardt dished out 2 assists. Jeff Kinyoun recorded 3 saves in 42 minutes of action. Keith Fuller picked up 1 save in 6 minutes of goalie action.

Midlakes 11 Marcus Whitman 7

The Midlakes Screaming Eagles jumped out to a 6-2 first-half lead and held on for an 11-7 victory over Marcus Whitman in high school boy’s lacrosse action April 24. The hometown Whitman Wildcats cut the Midlakes lead to 9-6 after three quarters, but this would be as close as they would get on this day. Whitman falls to 3-5 with the loss.

Schuyler Bredesen topped the Whitman scoring sheet with 3 goals. Seth Benedict sand DeCouteau Blueye added 2 goals each. Blueye also picked up two assists. Michael Dhondt recorded 3 saves in goal for the Wildcats.
