The Penn Yan Mustang boy’s lacrosse team downed their neighbors to the west, Marcus Whitman, 18-6 in a non-league lacrosse contest played in Penn Yan May 16. Penn Yan jumped out to a convincing 10-2 lead at the half and upped their winning margin to 16-2 after 3 quarters. The win was Penn Yan’s 10th of the season. They have lost 4 times. Marcus Whitman slips to 6-10 with the loss.

Conner Finger paced the Orange and Blue attack with 5 goals and 3 assists. Ayden Mowry added 4 goals and 2 assists. Austin Blumbergs chipped in 3 goals and 3 assists. Dylan Stape and Max Brodman notched 2 goals apiece for the Mustangs. Rounding out the Penn Yan scoring was Ryan Moon and Colton Smith with goals, and Devon Gerhardt with 2 assists. Jeff Kinyoun recorded 6 saves in goal for Penn Yan. Keith Fuller manned the Mustang nets in the final 5 minutes.

For Marcus Whitman, Timmy Cornish scored 2 goals and dished out 2 assists. Ezera Jones also tallied 2 goals. Schuyler Bredesen and Ryan Herod added a goal and an assist each. Michael Dhondt and Robert Craine combined for 7 saves in goal for the Wildcats.
