Girls will play Pal-Mac 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Pittsford-Sutherland High School

It’s on to the Class D championship game for the Penn Yan Mustang girl’s lacrosse team. The Mustang Lady Laxers defeated Aquinas 16-8 May 25 at Mynderse Academy to punch their ticket to the finals. In the other semi-final match, #4 seed Pal-Mac upset #1 seed Waterloo. The #2 seed Penn Yan squad will take on Pal-Mac Tuesday evening at Pittsford/Sutherland High School. The game time is set for 5:30 p.m.

In Friday night’s win, Penn Yan jumped out to a 10-5 lead at the half. They carried that winning momentum into the second half out-scoring the Aquinas girls 6-3. The win improves Penn Yan’s season mark to 12-4.

Hannah Keech led the impressive Mustang attack with 8 goals. Elissa Callaway notched 4 goals and 2 assists. Senior Sydney Bloom added 3 goals and 5 assists. Alli Olevnik contributed a goal and an assist while Sydney Hulse dished out an assist. Alexandra Cox was solid in the nets for Penn Yan and helping to contain the Aquinas offense.
