The Penn Yan Mustang girls basketball team continued their winning ways last week with two big Finger Lakes East wins.
On Tuesday night in Rushville, the Penn Yan Lady hoopsters scored a 37-30 win over their western neighbor Whitman Wildcats.
The Orange and Blue forces trailed 18-12 at the half but reversed their fortunes totally in the second half. Penn Yan outscored their host 25-12 in the final 16 minutes to pull out the 7-point victory.
Kate Disbrow led the Penn Yan offense with 9 points. Chelsie Travis and Emily Simpson tallied 8 points each.
For Marcus Whitman, Megan Robson scored 12 points and Hannah Barnett added 8.

Waterloo 23
The successful road trip continued for Penn Yan on Friday with another victory for the surging Mustangs. They came out strong in the first quarter in Waterloo, shutting out the hometown Indians 7-0.
From there, the Penn Yan Lady cagers easily rolled to a 43-23 win.
Rachel Roddenbery topped the Penn Yan scorers with 9 points. Emily Simpson added 7 points while Kate Disbrow, Catherine Andersen and Brianna Bush all delivered 6 points for Penn Yan (4-1,2-1).

Midlakes jumped to a 14-8 halftime lead at home and held on for a 30-24 win over Marcus Whitman in a low-scoring contest. Andrea Eckert notched 7 points and Jamie Archer 6 for the Lady Wildcats (3-4,0-4).
Dundee 45

The Dundee Scots girls basketball team outscored DeSales of Geneva 45-37 at home on Thursday evening. A 21-10 first half advantage was enough to guarantee this Dundee win.
Casi Strait was a true potent offensive force for the Lady Scots. She scored 25 of Dundee’s 45 total points and also hauled down 9 rebounds and had 5 steals. Sami Clingerman added 9 points. Katie Zebrowski pulled down 7 rebounds for Dundee (2-2,2-1).
South Seneca 43
Dundee 25
Earlier in the week, the Dundee girls dropped a 43-25 decision to South Seneca in Ovid.
Casi Strait led all scorers in this game with 12 points. She also had 6 rebounds and 3 steals.
But her effort would not be enough for Dundee to capture a win on this night. Sami Clingerman tallied 7 points for the Lady Scots.
