The Penn Yan Mustang girls bowling team scored two 7-0 shutout wins in Finger Lakes action last week.
On Monday in Penn Yan at Doug Kent’s Lakeside Lanes, the Lady Mustangs blanked Geneva 7-0. Kara Sage led the Mustang bowlers with a 523 series. Brendaya Parsons added a 483 series.
Wednesday, the Mustang girls whitewashed Wayne 7-0 in Webster behind a stellar 661 series by eighth grader Brooke Parsons.
She rolled games of 212, 232, and 217 to lead the Orange and Blue keglers. The 661 series was the top three game series score in the league this year.
Her sister, Brendaya, added a 502 series. Penn Yan improved their record to 49-14, good enough for second place in the Finger Lakes East.
The Mustang boys scored a 4-3 win over Geneva Monday in Penn Yan.
The Penn Yan keglers won the first two games and hung on for the 4-3 team win.
Dan Fox rolled a 675 (223-222-230), Jonah Pielow 664 (244-215-205), and Derrick Fleischman 624 (248) for Penn Yan. Eric Pulver added a 580 (207).
On Wednesday, the Mustangs dropped their first games in several weeks, losing to Wayne 5-2 in Webster. Pulver bowled a 685 (203-225-205), Fleischman a 625 (213-206-204), and Ryan Johnson 584 (211).
Penn Yan remains in first place in the Finger Lakes East with a 51-12 record.
Dundee
The Dundee Scots Bowling teams also continued their winning ways.
On Tuesday, the Dundee boys shutout Honeoye 7-0 in Dundee. Bryon Case rolled a 608 series (222-218) to lead the Scots. Devon Miller rolled a 212 also for Dundee.
Also in Dundee on Thursday, the Scotsmen blanked South Seneca 7-0.
Miller tallied a 657 (207-215-235). Case contributed a 572 (211) for Dundee (58-5).
On the girl’s side, Honeoye defeated Dundee 5-2 at the Family Fun Center. Amanda Crans bowled a 509 (185) to lead Dundee.
The Lady Scots rebounded on Thursday to shutout South Seneca 7-0. Crans rolled a 185 first game for the Lady Scots (39-24).
Marcus Whitman
Marcus Whitman lost to Newark 7-0 in the both the girls and boys matches at Roseland Bowl. For the Lady Wildcats, Hannah Bowman rolled a 487 (189).
For the boys, Rob Cornish led Whitman with a 616 series (223-222) and Brandon Chabot a 586 (216). Brandon Grover added a 212 single game.
On Thursday afternoon, the Wildcat boys team blanked Mynderse 7-0 in Seneca Falls.
Chabot rolled a 233 single game. Grover added a 570 series (224).
The Lady Wildcats were shutout by Mynderse 7-0. Regina Burnett bowled a 171 single for Whitman (9-57).
