Mustangs extend league lead with 7-0 win over Wildcats

The Penn Yan Mustang Boy’s bowling team, fresh off their impressive tournament win in the Newkirk Christmas Tournament in Canandaigua two weeks ago, continued to dominate in the Finger Lakes East.

On Wednesday afternoon at Doug Kent’s Lakeside Lanes in Penn Yan, the Mustangs shut out Marcus Whitman 7-0. Derrick Fleischman topped the Mustang scoring sheet with a 664 series (210-248-206).

Jonah Pielow rolled a 645 series (204-233-208) and Dan Fox a 630 aggragate (216-218). Ryan Johnson contributed a 210 single.

Brandon Chabot bowled a 542 series to lead the Wildcat bowlers. The Finger Lakes East leading Mustangs improved their record to 45-4 with a huge contest with second place Geneva coming up this week in Penn Yan.

The Lady Mustangs, not to be outdone, also whitewashed the Whitman bowlers 7-0 in Penn Yan.
Kara Sage led the Penn Yan Lady keglers with a 566 series (234-181). Brendaya Parsons added a 492 (191). For Marcus Whitman, Regina Burnett had a 169 single.

In other local high school bowling action last week, the Dundee Scot Boy’s Bowling team continued to pile up wins, shutting out Bloomfield 7-0 at the Dundee Family Fun Center on Thursday. The Scots racked up 2,339 total pins to just 2,094 for the Bombers. Devon Miller was the top Dundee bowler, rolling a 603 series, including a single game 234.

The Dundee Girl’s team lost to Bloomfield 5-2 in Dundee on Thursday afternoon.  Bloomfield amassed 2,037 total pins to Dundee’s 1,874
