The Dundee Scots girls bowling team continues to roll over opponents as the season reaches its halfway point. On Tuesday afternoon at the Dundee Family Fun Center, the Dundee girls racked up 2,183 total pins to Penn Yan’s 2,007 and went to register a 5-2 win over their Yates County neighbors.
The Mustang girls captured the first game by 41 pins, but Dundee easily won games two and three to register this non-league victory.
Amanda Krause rolled a 474 (183) to pace the Dundee keglers. Mary Rainis added a 473 (164), Loren Marusarz a 471 (176) and Amanda Crans a 452 (165).
Kelsey Broome bowled a match high 202 for Penn Yan. Kara Sage added a 173. Dundee improved their record to 38-18 and Penn Yan falls to 37-12 at the halfway mark of the season.
The Penn Yan Mustang boys bowling team sit comfortably on top of the Finger Lakes East league standings with a 38-4 record.
They have been next to unbeatable in the first half of this season.
Dundee is also having a fantastic season with their sites set on first place in the Finger Lakes West. On Tuesday afternoon in Dundee, these two bowling powers squared off in a non-league match. The result was a near standoff.
Penn Yan won two of the three games by close margins. Dundee captured the total pin count 2,673 to 2,607. Penn Yan ended the afternoon with a hard fought 4-3 win. With the victory, the Mustangs upped their season record to 42-1 overall. Dundee’s record stands at 47-9.
