Paul T. Larzelere, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey J. Larzelere of Bluff Point, and Celina Nicole Mendoza Tapia, daughter of Mr. Julio Prieto of Argentina and Mrs. Maria Angélica Tapia Nova of Concepcion, Chile, South America, were wed in a civil ceremony in Concepcion, April 8, 2022.
A religious ceremony for Chilean family and friends followed April 12, with the Rev. Guillermo Lastra officiating. The bride was given by her mother. The groom was accompanied by the bride’s grandmother, Flor Mireya Nova.
A reception was held for approximately 50 Chilean family and friends.
The couple also made plans to have a blessing of their marriage in the Catholic Church. That took place on July 10 at St. Michael’s Church in Penn Yan, with the Rev. Jorge Ramirez officiating. Several members of the bride’s family attended. The bride was escorted to the altar by her mother. Fr. Ramirez conducted the ceremony in English and Spanish. Scripture was proclaimed by Curtis Larzelere, Carlos Henriquez, Mark Mayton, Patty Larzelere, and Flor Mireya. The mothers lit candles from which the couple lit a unity candle.
The wedding party included Mireya Celina Tapia Nova, aunt of the bride, as Matron of Honor. The Best Man was Daniel Ledgerwood. Bridesmaids included Kassondra, Alaura, and Bethany Larzelere of Penn Yan. Cristina Valenzuela of Concepcion was the flower girl.
Groomsmen were Ben Morehouse of Branchport, Charlie Santora, home from serving in the U.S. Army at the Poland- Ukraine border, and Dallas Zebrowski of Pennsylvania. Ring bearers were Clayton Larzelere and Samuel Henriquez. A reception for 75 family and friends was held at Abandon Brewing, Penn Yan.
The happy couple are making their temporary home in San Pedro de la Paz, Bio-Bio, Chile.
