THE SEED LIBRARY
At a recent meeting, The Plant Based People Group learned about The Seed Library at the Modeste Bedient Memorial Library in Branchport. The Seed Library project was funded (in part) by a grant from the Foundation for Southern Tier Libraries which was obtained by Shelley Pierce, the Library Director. The Seed Library consists of a catalog of seeds for growing herbs, vegetable and fruits. There is no cost for the seeds, but donations are appreciated and help to keep this initiative fruitful. Please come and check out our Seed Library! You will be glad you did!
The Plant Based People Group strives to promote education, fellowship and food creativity to those community members interested in exploring vegetarian and vegan lifestyles. Our group meets the first Wednesday of every month from 6 – 7:45 pm at the Modeste Bedient Memorial Library in Branchport. We have guest speakers, member teaching and lively discussions. In the future we are planning to host vegan potluck dinners and field trips! You may call the library at 315-595-2899 for more information, or simply show up! All are welcome – regardless of where you are in your plant based journey.

FREE YCS MUSICIANS AVAILABLE
Yates Concert Series (YCS) continues offering its expertise and efforts to line up community event partnerships, supported by grants and community interest. The goal of this program, started in late 2020 — and as some community groups already know — is to arrange for musicians to perform at free community events. YCS has long provided free Summer Concerts on the old Yates County Courthouse lawn, and believes that music enhances all types of community events and festivals. We are excited to keep making this new opportunity available in our region. You who organize free community events open to the public, please apply now! Contact YCS Partnership Committee via firstname.lastname@example.org to learn more and obtain a Community Partnerships application. Please share who you are, proposed details of your planned event, type of music you hope to have, and both telephone and email contact information. Let us hear from you! We plan to respond ASAP.
