Penn Yan – Darlene Marie Schwartz, 80, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2022. A Funeral Service was held honoring her life at Zion Fellowship Church at 5188 Br i s tol Road, Canandaigua, N.Y., on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 5 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Family Life Ministries, P.O. Box 506, Bath, N.Y. 14810. Darlene was born on October 7, 1942, in Canandaigua to Frederick and Betty LaDue Mitchell. She graduated from Marcus Whitman High School and married Carl J. Schwartz (Sr.). They lived their lives together in Middlesex and served as Youth Directors at the Middlesex Baptist Church, where they were members, from the early 1980s well into the 1990s. Darlene actively attended Zion Fellowship services.
Darlene was employed as a bus driver for Marcus Whitman, when she was not busy raising her four children. She later was a vendor at the Lown’s House of Shoppes selling her wares at “Darlene’s Place”.
Darlene is survived by her four children, Yvonne (Leo) Campbell, Carlene (Clark) Kelsey, Sr., Carl (Kerri) Schwartz, Jr., and Quintin (Mary) Schwartz, Sr.; as well as her 18 grandchildren, Lauren (CJ) Pollock, Ryan (Emma) Campbell, Aaron (Haylee) Campbell, Kaitlyn (Volodymyr) Aleksyeyev; Megan Campbell, Clark (Rachel) Kelsey, Jr., Anna Laura (Kyle) Ierley, Prescott (Anna) Kelsey, Emma Danae (Daniel) Droz, Ruby Schwartz, Lily Schwartz, Daisy Schwartz, Thorn Schwartz, Quintin (Alexandra) Schwartz, Jr., Jacob (Camille) Schwartz, Jennifer Stalker, Jason Stalker, Allison Panzica and Ethan Panzica; and eight great-grandchildren, Avalon and Maeva Pollock, Isaac Kelsey, Matthias Kelsey, Elijah Schwartz-Belmore, Quinn and Ryker Schwartz, and Athena Schwartz. She is also survived by her three brothers, Rick Mitchell, Victor (Kay) Mitchell and Adrian (Sandy) Mitchell; brother-in-law, Edward (Mary Janet) Schwartz; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Darlene was predeceased by her parents as well as her husband, Carl J. Schwartz (Sr.); her brother, David Mitchell; and her sister-in-law, Anne Mitchell.
