Stephen A. Eskildsen, 75, of Penn Yan passed away November 3, 2022, at
FF Thompson Hospital after a long illness. Steve was born in Penn Yan on November 30, 1946, the son of the late Andrew and Marion (Cross) Eskildsen. He graduated from Penn Yan Academy and studied at Alfred State College. He was a lifelong farmer, and in later years became a heavy equipment operator for Ontario County. Steve was a Town of Torrey Zoning Board member for 20 years and a lifetime member of the Dresden Fire Department and the Seneca Lake Duck Hunters Club. He is survived by three children, Kerry (Chuck) Hoffman of Honeoye Falls, N.Y., Thomas (Sara) Eskildsen of Penn Yan, and Kate (Matt) Nelson of Tampa, Fla.; five grandchildren, Madeline, Alexa, Jacob, Stephan and Karla; brother, Fred (Judy) Eskildsen of West Bloomfield; sister, Lois Hall of Bluff Point; special lifelong friends, David and Toby Bond and Paula Edelmann; special caregiver, Diane Segura; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Thomas Eskildsen, and brother-in-law Warren Hall. The family will receive friends and relatives at Dresden United Methodist Church, 62 Cornelia St. in Dresden on Wednesday, November 16 from 1-3:30 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at Dresden United Methodist Church on Thursday, November 17 at 12 p.m. A reception will immediately follow at Seneca Lake Duck Hunters Club.
