The win put Hammondsport at 2-0. For Naples, Grace Hebding had six points, four rebounds and five steals, Erika Reigelsperger had three points and four rebounds, and Polly Bay had six rebounds and six steals on top of two points. <b>Dec. 6 Perry 54, Naples 20</b> Naples ate a big loss, falling to 0-2, while Perry moved up to 1-1. For Perry, Jade Duffin got 11 points and 13 rebounds, Jaelyn Morris scored 10 points with six steals and Nellie Koronas had eight points, nine rebounds and eight steals. Grace Hebding led the Big Green Machine with 12 points and nine rebounds. <b>Dec. 7 Bloomfield 41, Dundee/ Bradford 35</b> Dundee/Bradford lost a close one to the Bombers,droppingto1-1. Bloomfield was also 1-1. Kendall Parker scored 19 for the BraveScots, also snagging four rebounds, while Kailey Yeoman scored eight points, also with four rebounds and a pair of steals. <b>Marcus Whitman 48, Red Jacket 20</b> Whitman grabbed a big win for the first game of the Winter season, doubling RJ’s score and then some. For the Wildcats, Olivia Herod scored eight points, Natalie Cotroneo and Lily Carroll each scored seven, while Katie Bootes and Tori Brooks each had six. <b>Dec. 9 Waterloo 71, Penn Yan 26</b> The Tigers crushed the Mustangs, nearly tripling Penn Yan’s score. It was PY’s third loss in a row, putting them at 0-3, while Waterloo improved to 3-0. For the Tigers, Morgan Caraballo scored 28 points, Jazzmyn Lewis scored 14 and Addison Bree scored 13. Bailey Cooper led Penn Yan with eight points and nine rebounds, with Hailey Trank and Taylor Mullins each scoring six. <b>Dundee/Bradford 60, Naples 21</b> The ‘Scots took a commanding win over Naples, dropping the Big Green to 0-3. For Dundee/ Bradford, Kendall Parker scored 18 points with four assists and three steals, while Kailey Yeoman scored 15 points and stole the ball seven times. Also for the BraveScots, Mikayla Schoffner led her team in boards with 10, while Trisha Edminster and Jenna Schuerholz grabbed six rebounds each, with Edminster also scoring four points in the game. <b>Marcus Whitman 49, HAC 18</b> Whitman won their second game of the season with an almost mirrored score to their first. Olivia Herod and Natalie Cotroneo each scored 10 points for the Wildcats, while Aliysiah Clark scored eight and Lily Carroll scored seven. HAC was 1-4 after the loss. <b>Boys Basketball</b> <b>Dec. 6 Newark 62, Penn Yan 35</b> Penn Yan lost their second game of the season, putting them at 0-2. The game started off rocky for PY, with Newark doubling the Mustangs’ score in the first period, 22-11, and the Reds ahead 35-17 at the half. By the end of the third, Newark led by 30 points and didn’t relent until the final buzzer. Ball control was a major issue for Penn Yan, with the Mustangs having trouble holding on to the ball and making several poor pass decisions. Raeshawn Howard led the Reds with 24 points, while Brayden Steve scored 22, going 4/4 in free throws. For PY, Tanyon Dunning scored eight points, including a crowd-pleasing dunk, Liam Chapman scored eight and Carson Nagpaul scored 6. <b>Bloomfield 60, Dundee/ Bradford 48</b> Dundee/Bradford lost their second game in a row, putting them at 1-2 this season. Top scorers for the BraveScots included Nick Slavick with 13 points and nine rebounds, Logan Buchanan with 12 points and five blocks and Ryan McTamney with 11 points. It was Bloomfield’s first win of the Winter, putting the Bombers at 1-1 after an season-opening loss to Waterloo on the 3rd. <b>Keshequa 46, Naples 34</b> Keshequa won their season opener, dropping Naples to 0-2. Bryan Flanagan was the clear standout for Keshequa, scoring 23 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Nathan Thayer and Ian Hinrich both scored nine points for Keshequa, with Hinrich getting seven rebounds. <b>Dec. 7 Marcus Whitman 55, Livonia 53</b> Whitman beat Livonia by a field goal, securing their first win of the season. It was Livonia’s first loss, putting both teams at 1-1. <b>Dec. 8 Dundee/Bradford 74, Naples 49</b> The BraveScots got a big win over Naples, moving Dundee/ Bradford up to 2-2. Ryan McTamney led the ‘Scots with 20 points and six steals. Also for D/B, Nick Slavick scored 17 points, Cam Rosemier scored 14 points and Logan Buchanan brought in 11 points. The lead scorer for Naples was Hayden Liddiard with 16 points, while Dylan Bray scored nine and Ian Kenney scored seven. Naples was 0-3 with the loss. <b>Dec. 9 Waterloo 63, Penn Yan 55</b> Penn Yan picked up their third loss in a row, thus far winless this winter. The Tigers improved to 2-1 with the win. Markell Kingston-Johnson scored 14 points for Waterloo, while Dylan Caraballo scored 13. For PY, Matt Tones scored 25 points and Liam Chapman scored 10. <b>Marcus Whitman 51, Mynderse 44</b> Whitman was 2-1 after a win against Mynderse, while the Devils took their first loss, also putting Mynderse at 2-1. For the Wildcats, Brody Royston scored 17 points, Tariku Blueye scored 13 and Bryce Tomion scored 11. Royston and Blueye each drained three 3-pointers in the game. For Mynderse, Jake Prayne scored 15 points, all from 3s, and Tony Luffman scored 11. <b>Wrestling</b> <b>Dec. 6 Midlakes 48, Penn Yan 27</b> Penn Yan lost their second meet of the season, falling to Midlakes and putting the Mustangs at 0-2. Wins for the Eagles included Alex Hyde over Cullen Maher (4:32 pin) and Garrett Cooper over David Young (5:52 pin). PY had wins with Roark Castner over Logan Churchill (0:24 pin), Reed Bouchard over Jack DeJonge (3-1 decision), Jacob Eaves over Leah Peck (0:54 pin) and Aiden Smith over Landen Manley (1:25 pin). Though PY had more one-on-one wins, they lost in points due to forfeits, with the Mustangs forfeiting six matches in the meet. <b>Dec. 8 Dundee 48, Red Jacket 18 Dundee 60, Red Creek 12</b> Dundee turned in a stellar performance at Red Jacket HS, taking big wins against RJ and Red Creek. Versus Red Jacket, Dundee had wins with Zachary Grant over Wyatt Rossignol (3:54 pin), Connor Erick over Kole Bachman (0:37 pin), and Caden Hill over Skyler Taylor (0:58 pin). Against Red Creek, the Scots had wins from Harvey Tongate over Jacob Mercer (0:36 pin), Connor Erick over Ayden Mullin (3:39 pin), Hayden Erick over Jaiden Duvall (1:29 pin), and Logan Snyder over Jaxon Bliss (5:02 pin). Red Jacket had wins with Grace Bellis over Christopher Dillion (10-6 dec.), Hasen Wetherbee over Alex Leonard (2:43 pin), Micah Harshfield over Michael Eaves (114 dec.) and Jacob Rush over Jacob Bartlett (0:40 pin). Red Creek had wins with Charles Goetzmann over Jacob Bartlett (1:45 pin) and Bradley Lewis over Caden Bartlett (5:00 pin). <b>Boys Swimming</b> <b>Dec. 6 North Rose-Wolcott 86, Marcus Whitman 63</b> Whitman lost their second meet of the winter, dropping to 0-2. NRW won the 200 Medley and Freestyle Relays, also picking up wins from Matthew Cole in the 100 Butterfly (1:02), Matthew Ingersoll in the 100 Free (57.21) and Brendan Winter in the 500 Free (6:17). For Whitman, Zach Lincoln won the 200 Free (2:11), Brendan Laity won the 200 IM (2:17) and 100 Back (1:02), and Carl Parsons won the 50 Free (24.45) and 100 Breast (1:07). Whitman also took the 400 Freestyle Relay. It was NRW’s first win of the season, putting them at 1-1. <b>Dec. 8 Newark/Lyons 89, Marcus Whitman 76</b> Newark/Lyons got the better of the day, putting Whitman at 0-3 in meets this season despite taking more overall wins in the matchup. Whitman won the 200 Medley Relay and 400 Freestyle Relay and had wins from Brendan Laity in the 200 Free (1:58) and 500 Free (5:19), Carl Parsons in the 200 IM (2:16) and 100 Breast (1:05), Gabe Johnson in the 100 Butterfly (1:04), and Zach Lincoln in the 100 Free (58.44) and 100 Back (1:05). Newark/Lyons took the 200 Free Relay and had a win from Luciano Rank in the 50 Free (24.26). <b>Geneva/Mynderse 108, Naples 75</b> Naples fell to Geneva/Mynderse, putting the Big Green at 1-1 this season. G/M won all three relays for the day and took wins with Christopher Woody in the 200 IM (2:19) and 100 Breast (1:08), and Gerard Humiston in the 100 Free (53.90). Naples got wins from Lukas Hall in the 50 Free (24.67), Grady Grove in diving and Eric McDonald in the 100 Back (1:10).
