Rob Maeske The Chronicle-Express BOYS BASKETBALL Dec. 19 Dundee/Bradford 66, Honeoye 51 The BraveScots took down the Bulldogs in Honeoye. Dundee/ Bradford improved to 3-4, while Honeoye fell to 3-2. Cam Rosemier scored 23 points for the ‘Scots, Aiden Webster put up 14 points and Nick Slavick scored seven points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Honeoye was led by Owen Baader with 23 points. Dec. 20 Marcus Whitman 40, Penn Yan 39 The Wildcats won in Penn Yan, denying the Mustangs their first win of the season by the narrowest of margins. Whitman evened out their record to 3-3, while PYA is now 0-6. Tariku Blueye scored 11 points for the Wildcats, Brody Royston scored nine and Logan Storms added eight. For PYA, Tanyon Dunning brought in 13 points, while Liam Chapman got eight and Owen Bishop got seven. Naples 38, Bloomfield 35 Naples edged out Bloomfield to score their first win of the Winter season. The win put the Big Green at 1-5, while the Bombers were 1-4. GIRLS BASKETBALL Dec. 19 Dundee/Bradford 59, Honeoye 23 DB took a commanding win over Honeoye, moving up to 4-1. Kendall Parker led the BraveScots with 21 points, six rebounds and seven steals. Also for DB, Kailey Yeoman got 14 points and eight steals, while Mikayla Schoffner scored eight points with 13 rebounds and five steals. With the loss, the Bulldogs were 2-3. Marcus Whitman 56, Romulus 16 Whitman dominated Romulus by 50 points, almost mirroring the 5016 win against Naples the Wildcats got in their last game. Olivia Herod and Tori Brooks each scored 10 points for Whitman, while Aliysiah Clark and Katie Bootes each scored six. Romulus dropped to 1-4 with the loss; Whitman remained undefeated at 4-0. Bloomfield 56, Naples 20 Bloomfield got a big win in Naples, knocking the Green down to 0-5, while the Bombers improved to 5-1. Calla McCombs led Bloomfield with 13 points and Allison Baughman scored 12, while Ashlyn Wright and Lily Baughman each scored 10. For Naples, Grace Hebding got nine points and 11 rebounds. Dec. 21 Midlakes 65, Penn Yan 25 Penn Yan took another big loss this season, falling by 40 points to Midlakes, who evened up to 3-3 with the win. PYA dropped to 1-5. For Midlakes, Grace Murphy led with 13 points, Stella DelPapa scored 12 and Mary Givens got nine points and 10 rebounds. Taylor Mullins was the top scorer for the Mustangs with 10 points, while Bailey Cooper scored six. Dundee/Bradford 46, Watkins Glen 45 The BraveScots narrowly eked out a win against Watkins, improving to 5-1. Watkins Glen was 0-2. For the ‘Scots, Kendall Parker had 13 points, nine rebounds and seven steals, Kailey Yeoman had 12 points and six steals, Alissa Eaves scored nine points and Mikayla Schoffner grabbed seven rebounds and three steals. BOYS BOWLING Dec. 20 Waterloo 5, Penn Yan 0 The Penn Yan boys lost to Waterloo, falling to 1-1 for the season. PYA’s Colin Johnson got the top series of the match with a 685, bowling games of 224, 216 and the match high game of 245. Garrett Tuuri had the high series for Waterloo with a 627, with games of 212, 192 and Waterloo’s high game of 223. Also for Waterloo, Nathan Robson had a 543 with a high game of 186 and Zachary Manko had a 516 series with a high game of 190. For Penn Yan, Connor Anderson bowled a 572 series with a high game of 229. GIRLS BOWLING Dec. 20 Penn Yan 4, Waterloo 1 The Mustangs won against the Tigers, raising the PYA girls to 2-0. The high series of the match was bowled by PYA’s Julia Maldonado with 630. Maldonado bowled games of 179, 206 and the match high of 245. Also for the Mustangs, Lyanna Shipman had a 411 series and Amenia Samatulski had a 410 series. For Waterloo, Sabrina Palmer bowled the Tigers’ high series of 532 and high game of 180, alongside games of 179 and 173. Next in line for Waterloo was Gabryella Templeton, who bowled a high game of 159 in her 432 series. BOYS SWIMMING Dec. 20 Geneva/Mynderse 91, Marcus Whitman 77 Whitman remained winless at 0-6 with a loss to Geneva/Mynderse. Geneva/Mynderse won the 200 Medley Relay and got wins from Gerard Humiston in the 50 Free (24.68) and the 500 Free (5:29) and Christopher Woody in the 100 Breast (1:08). Whitman won both Freestyle Relays and had wins with Carl Parsons in the 200 Free (1:55) and 100 Butterfly (58.62), Brendan Laity in the 200 IM (2:14) and 100 Back (1:02), and Gabe Johnson in the 100 Free (55.54).
