Ora Hammond, 77, of Bellona, N.Y. entered unto rest on Friday, December 23, 2022, at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital.

Ora was born on June 28, 1945, in Corning, N.Y., the daughter of the late Norman and Mae (Kalmbach) Morse. She graduated from Middlesex Valley High School and married Darwin C. Hammond at Potter Church on November 23, 1963. She retired from Keuka College in 2011 after 24 years of service. She was a member of Bath Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

Ora is survived by her daughters Rose Hammond of Penn Yan, Kathy Hammond (Greg Griffin) of Penn Yan and Alayne Hammond of Bellona; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ora was predeceased by her husband of 47 years Darwin C. Hammond on March 12, 2011, and three brothers and her sister.

Friends and family are invited to attend her committal service at Bath National Cemetery on Monday, January 23, 2023, at 11 a.m. A memorial service will follow at 12 p.m. at Bath Methodist Church, 3 West Washington St., Bath, NY 14810.
