The BraveScots took down C2’s #1 seed, beating Lyons by 12 in Canandaigua and securing their place in the C2 Finals against Pavilion (#3) for a shot at the Sectional title. The win put Dundee/Bradford at 21-2 for the season. Kendall Parker led the ‘Scots with 31 points, while Mikayla Schoffner scored 17, Kailey Yeoman scored 11 and Alissa Eaves scored six. Adrienne Kendall and Trisha Edminster each added two points to D/B’s score. For the Lions, who finished 19-4 this season, Jayla Bell scored 21 points, Milleniyah Glanton scored 12 and Kara Stephens got 10.

The C2 Finals were slated for March 4th at Rush-Henrietta.

Mar. 4 Class C2 Finals (#3) Pavilion 45, (#4) Dundee/ Bradford 36

Pavilion took the win over Dundee/ Bradford in the C2 Finals, grabbing their second consecutive Sectional title after a hard-fought game by both teams. Dundee/Bradford’s season ended up at 21-3. Pavilion led from the beginning, with the score 24-15 at halftime, but the BraveScots pushed hard in the second half, taking the lead several times. However, Pavilion pulled ahead for good late in the fourth quarter, while their defense proved too great an obstacle for the ‘Scots to overcome at the end and the game went to the Gophers. The Golden Gophers were led by Lauren Kingsley, who scored 18 points with 11 rebounds. Also for Pavilion, Karlee Zinkievich scored 11 points, had five assists and snagged three steals.

Dundee/Bradford’s Kendall Parker was the game’s second-highest scorer with 17 points, while teammate Kailey Yeoman scored 11.

The Section V girls basketball Class C2 all-tournament team was announced as: Emelia McCulley (Batavia/Notre Dame), Kailey Yeoman (Dundee/Bradford), Kendall Parker (Dundee/Bradford), Jayla Bell (Lyons), Karlee Zinkievich (Pavilion), Kylie Conway (Pavilion).

Pavilion’s Lauren Kingsley was named the C2 Tournament MVP.

It was the second time in a row that Dundee/Bradford was jilted in the C2 Final match, losing to York last season. The BraveScots lose four Seniors to graduation this season, including four-year vet Trisha Edminster, two-year player Mykenzie Clancey and first-year players Brieonna Bayer and Lily Hall, both of whom scored their fair share of points this year. The ‘Scots will have plenty of returning talent though, including Sophomore guard Kendall Parker, who led D/B in points in most games this season and three-year veteran Juniors Kailey Yeoman and Mikayla Schoffner, who have been Parker’s constant support system and made up the core of a fierce BraveScots team in the three years since the schools combined their basketball programs.

Dundee/Bradford fans have a lot to look forward to next season, as the BraveScots are sure to return as Sectional contenders in 2023-24.
