Please donate pet food to Pet Partner Connections during March at your church or any of pet food donation sites at Lyons Bank, Knapp & Schlappi, and the Black Cat Café.

Pet Partner Connections provides pet food and support to pet owners who, due to age, disability, or other issue may need help to keep their pets at home. We can provide that needed food and other pet support through home visits and food pantries – but only with your help We can keep pets at home and out of shelters in these difficult times. Please Donate to our pet food pantry during Pet Food Sunday month throughout March. Thank you for your continued support!

Best for ages 3 and under (older kids are welcome), with a caregiver. Indoors at 214 Main St., Penn Yan, or outdoors in the event of acceptable weather.

Safe Harbors Youth Group

Mondays from 3 to 4 p.m. at Penn Yan Public Library - A group for youth ages 11 to 14 to drop by to play games, chat, get crafty, and do fun activities! Facilitated by Safe Harbors of the Finger Lakes. Group will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, March 20 only.

French Table de Conversation

Thursday, March 9, 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. at Burnt Rose Wine Bar, 13 Main St., Penn Yan - It’s back! Every other month, connect with other Francophiles over drinks and snacks. Practice your French speaking skills, or sit back and practice listening. All skill levels are welcome. No registration is necessary.

The library will buy one round of hors d’oeuvres; drinks and other food are on you. Hosted by Penn Yan Public Library.

MARCH 10 Dundee Food Pantry Produce

The Dundee Food Pantry will be handing out produce boxes March 10 from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the parking lot of the Dundee Baptist Church at 20 Seneca Street. All residents of the Dundee Central School District are welcome to receive produce boxes. Questions?

Local Heritage Film: Yates County’s Greatest Generation Friday, March 10, 1 2:30 p.m. - Enjoy these recordings of local history presentations from years past. Stick around afterward for a discussion session facilitated by the Yates County History Center.

This month’s selection is a 2006 presentation given by Robert Evans on local World War II veterans and their stories. Hosted by Penn Yan Public Library and co-sponsored by the History Center.

MARCH 15 Walk-In Screening Mammograms

Walk-In Screening Mammograms” are offered every Wednesday from 7:30 a.m. – 11:40 a.m. in the Diagnostic Imaging/ Radiology Department at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, 418 North Main Street, Penn Yan. Patients do not need a referral nor will they incur a copay. For uninsured patients, the CSP of the Finger Lakes Region provides free screenings for colorectal, cervical and breast cancers for uninsured men and women: call 877-803-8070 to see if you are eligible for a free screening. MARCH 17 Pop-Up Food Pantry

Pro Action of Steuben and Yates, Inc. has partnered with Foodlink to provide a food distribution March 17 from 10 – 11:30 a.m. at Town of Starkey Highway Barn, 656 Dundee-Glenora Rd., Dundee. Pre-registration is required and on a firstcome, first-served basis; call Pro Action Yates OFA at 315-279-4321. This will be a drive-through model; clients must stay in their cars. No walk-ups; only pre-registered households in cars will be served.

Please do not arrive prior to 9 a.m.

Guerilla Gardening Day Friday, March 17, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Penn Yan Public Library - Youth ages 5 to 18 are invited to drop by the library to make seed bombs and/or paint a flowerpot! Youth under 10 must have a caregiver in the building. Supplies available on a first-come, first-served basis.

MARCH 19 Potter Fire Dept. Breakfast The Potter Volunteer Fire Department will be having a Breakfast March 19 from 8 a.m. till noon at the Potter Fire House, 1255 Phelps Road. We will be serving pancakes, sausages, home fries, breakfast sandwiches, eggs, toast, coffee, juice, and more!

A Field & Forage Crop Symposium will be offered Wednesday, March 22 at the Yates County Basement Auditorium (417 Liberty Street, Penn Yan, NY 14527). Alzheimer’s Association Caregiver Support Group All Yates County family caregivers are welcome to register to visit and share with others who take care of or are concerned about loved ones with dementia or Alzheimer’s at the Alzheimer’s Association’s Support Group meeting inperson the 4th Wednesday each month from 10 - 11 a.m. at the Dundee Library, 32 Water Street in Dundee.
