Cheryl (Sherry) Cassetta of Penn Yan, N.Y., passed away, Friday, December 9, 2022.

Sherry was born on February 27, 1947, in Penn Yan to John and Elizabeth (Newby) Cassetta.

Sherry worked as the Town of Milo Assessor for several years. After her retirement she enjoyed shopping and socializing. She could make friends out of total strangers everywhere she went with her wit and wisdom. Her Christmas shopping started December 26, every year, because of her giving nature and the great sales. She loved Elvis dearly but she lived her life by the words of Frank Sinatra, she did it her way, everyday of her life.

Aside from being everyone’s friend, Sherry was also a mom, grandmother, sister and aunt. She is survived by the following … daughter, Kellie (Marcello) Valdi; grandchildren Cary (Victoria Ray) Champlin and Emily (Keith) Howard; brothers, Paul (Sandy) Cassetta and Jack (Donna) Cassetta; nieces and nephews, Cathy (Jeff) Caster, Christine (Joe) Acquista, John (Alvi) Cassetta, Janice (Paul) Labella, several great-nieces and -nephews, and her dear friend Julie Christensen.
