For this month’s column, the Finger Lakes Justice Partnership would like to remind everyone that transgender people are people. They are people whose legal status is being put in doubt by a record-breaking 460 bills in 43 states across the nation – bills that cast necessary medical interventions as “malpractice,” that interfere with parents’ right to care for their trans children in an affirming way, that make it possible to break up families over the issue.
