Topics will include home and allowable asset transfers, income and asset limits for nursing home care assistance, and planning techniques used by private attorneys to plan for Medicaid eligibility. Pop-Up Food Pantry THE MIDDLETONS Pro Action of Steuben and Yates, Inc. has partnered with Foodlink to provide a Pop-Up Food Pantry will be held Friday April 14 from 10 – 11:30 a.m. at the Town of Starkey Highway Barn, 656 Dundee-Glenora Rd., Dundee. This will be a drive-through model; this will be a no-touch distribution and proper social distancing must be maintained. No walk-ups; only pre-registered households in cars will be served. Breakfast The Dresden Fire Department will be having a breakfast Sunday April 16 from 8 -11 a.m. Breakfast menu consists of pancakes, French toast, eggs, sausage, homefries, toast, and beverage. APRIL 28 Tree Dedication Ceremony The public is invited to attend a special Arbor Day tree dedication ceremony on Friday, April 28 at 1 p.m. at the Yates County History Center, 107 Chapel Street in Penn Yan. The tree planting is a Yates County bicentennial celebration event. The apple tree, a rare heirloom variety, is named for Abraham Wagener, who first propagated the trees in Yates County 200 years ago. A few of this variety survive in Yates County at properties owned by the Wagener family at one time. The Wagener apple is a parent to the modern Ida Red variety. Additional seedlings have also been planted at the Apple Barrel orchards in Penn Yan. Roast Beef Dinners will start again Saturday, April 29 at the Middlesex Hose Co. Firehall, 5537 Water St., Middlesex. The dinners will be served from 4-7 p.m. on the last Saturday of each month through Oct. 28. Adults $15, children $10 (under age 12), preschool free (take outs excluded). Dinners include tossed salad, rolls, relish dish, roast beef, gravy, potatoes, corn, pie, iced tea, milk, and coffee.
