ONEONTA — The Keuka College Lacrosse teams both lost on Saturday, April 8 at Hartwick College. MEN’S The men’s team fell 20-4 in an Empire 8 Conference game. Brandon MacDonell (Midlakes) scored a pair of goals for Keuka College (4-4, 0-3 Empire 8). Devon Gerhardt (Penn Yan Academy) and Enrique Castillo (Newark) each added goals for the Wolves. The Hawks scored the first six goals of the game on Saturday. Brandon MacDonell got the Wolves on the board with a goal with 1:05 left in the first, but the Hawks answered in the closing seconds to lead 7-1 after one. Gerhardt scored for Keuka in the second quarter and Dylan Hoad (Bath-Haverling) made seven saves in the frame, but the Wolves would trail 11-2 at the half. After setting it last game, Hoad one-upped his career-high in saves, making a total of 18 stops on Saturday. The Green and Gold scored a pair in the third quarter. Enrique Castillo won a faceoff and went right down the field to score. MacDonell added his second of the game, but the Hawks were in control of the action. Hartwick continued onto the 20-4 victory. The Wolves remain in search of their first victory against Hartwick College. Keuka will next face off against Hilbert College Wednesday, April 12. WOMEN’S The Women’s Lacrosse team lost to Hartwick 20-1. Keuka College (1-6, 0-1 Empire 8) got its lone goal by Sadie Bonetti (Mynderse Academy). Alyssa Chase (Marcus Whitman) made nine saves in goal for the Wolves. The Hawks took the lead early and did not look back. Hartwick scored eight in the first quarter and added three in the second for the 11-0 halftime lead. The Hawks outshot the Wolves 22-3 over the opening 30 minutes. Keuka College got on the board towards the end of the third with a goal by Sadie Bonetti. Hartwick posted four in the third and five in the fourth to defeat the Wolves 20-1. The Wolves return to the field on Wednesday, April 12 as Keuka College hosts Nazareth College at 7 p.m.
