CCE names Clancey Interim Executive Director

Clancey PENN YAN - The Board of Directors of Cornell Cooperative Extension Yates County announces the appointment of Jennifer “Jen” Clancey to serve as Interim Executive Director following the resignation of Arlene Wilson on May 5. Clancey will address the organization’s immediate needs as the Board begins the search for a permanent Executive Director.

Clancey has 17 years of experience working for Cornell Cooperative Extension. Growing up in the Yates County 4-H program, she went on to major in Agricultural Education at West Virginia University (Class of 2006) while also serving as the CCE-Yates 4-H summer assistant in 2005. In June 2006, she returned to CCE-Yates County as the new 4-H Youth Development Educator. She went on to receive her Master’s in Extension Education from North Carolina State University in 2012.

After serving in the educator role for seven years, Clancey became the 4-H and Human Ecology Team Leader and currently oversees many Yates County 4-H Youth programs such as public presentations, animal science, geo-caching, and fine arts. Board President James (Jim) Smith expressed the Board’s confidence in the selection of Clancey, saying, “We are pleased to have Jen step into the role of Interim Director due to her deep history with our programs and community, and we are confident that her conscientious leadership will guide us through this transition and help pave the way for a stronger Association in the future.”
