Your daily entertainment briefing with a Salsa Quesadilla dinner recipe, "Jersey Shore" tonight on MTV and renting "9" on DVD to watch this weekend.

Dinner idea: Salsa Quesadillas

2 (8-inch) flour tortillas

4 tablespoons Monterey Jack cheese, shredded

4 tablespoons prepared chunky salsa or picante sauce

1 tablespoon olive oil

Heat olive oil in a heavy skillet. Fry each tortilla until browned on both sides. Remove to paper towels and add remaining ingredients, filling to edge. Return to hot skillet to melt cheese. Cut into wedges and serve.

Suggestions for additional fillings: sliced ripe olives, chopped green onions including tops, chopped cilantro or guacamole. For seafood quesadilla, use chopped, cooked shrimp or crab.

On TV: ‘Jersey Shore’ on MTV at 9 p.m. EST; 8 p.m. CST

In case you missed yesterday’s episode, tonight’s repeat of “Jersey Shore” has the boys battling a broken toilet while Sammi moves back into the house at Ronnie’s surprise. Meanwhile, Snooki’s feelings for Vinny continue to grow.

Rent it: “9”

Produced by Tim Burton and stunningly animated, “9” is the story of nine ankle-high rag dolls who were brought to life with the last dying breath of a wild-eyed scientist bent on preserving some bit of humanity in a post-apocalyptic future world. Elijah Wood stars in this film, which is very dark and borderline terrifying at times -- probably not suitable for young children.
