Wilfred Charles Corey, 93, of Himrod died on February 7, 2013.

Wilfred Charles Corey was born in Potter on June 23, 1919. He was the son of Ralph Corey and Anna Dinehart Corey. He was married to Doris Virginia Knapton on Sept. 17, 1936.
Wilfred, who was a friend to everyone he met, was a successful farmer and grape grower his entire life. He was proud of the wines he produced and enjoyed sharing them with family and friends. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Wilfred enjoyed his family and loved making special cookouts and dinners for them.
Over his 93 years, he was active in the Himrod Hunting Club, Penn Yan Hunting Club, Corning Beagle Club, Duck Hunters, Farm Bureau, Himrod Conservation Corporation, the Masons and Loyal Order of Moose. He also assisted his daughters in showing cattle for 4-H events at various county fairs and the New York State Fair. He also served as a Justice of the Peace.
Wilfred was predeceased by his wife, mother, father, sister (Velma Christensen) and grandson (Corey Bishop). He is survived by his brothers, Lyle Corey (Mae) and Donald Corey (Dona); his sister, Anne Murray (Ray); his three daughters. Donna Kortemeyer (Henry); Carol Stallcup (Robert) and Linda Duby (Maurice); six grandchildren, five great- grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
