Steven Webb and Ryan Ballard, Dundee graduates and former teammates, will face off when Hobart hosts St. John Fisher in the next round of the DIII tournament Nov. 30.

Dundee football fans are likely to fill plenty of seats at Saturday's NCAA DIII tournament game at Hobart College. Some of them will be celebrating at the end of the game, and others will be disappointed. But all of them will be proud of the accomplishments of a couple of Dundee alumni.

The round II game of the DIII tournament, which kicks off at noon, pits the undefeated Hobart Statesmen and Dundee's Steven Webb against the St. John Fisher Cardinals and Dundee's Ryan Ballard.

Hobart, ranked 7th in the nation, defeated Gallaudet 34 - 7 Nov. 23 when Webb rushed for 161 yards and three touchdowns. Along the way he broke the Hobart record for season rushing touchdowns with his 20th score of the year on a 58-yard run on the first play from scrimmage in the second half.

Webb averaged 9.5 yards per carry on his way to his 15th career 100-yard rushing game. He also moved into a tie with Keith Brandon '01 for second place on the single season rushing list, upping his total to 1,369 yards. Webb's name is at the top of the stats for career rushing TDs (53), career total points scored (342) and career TDs (57) and season rushing TDs (20), season total points (120) and season TDs (20)

Visiting St. John Fisher College created six turnovers and battled back from a 13-0 deficit to earn a 26-15 win over ninth-ranked John Carroll University on Saturday in the opening round of the NCAA Division III Football Championship.

Ballard is a senior linebacker for the Cardinals. He has 31 solo tackles and 35 assists this year along with two interceptions and two fumble recoveries. He broke up two passes an assisted in five tackles in Saturday's game.

The Cardinals were one of five teams to receive an at-large bid.
