Donald R. Benedict, 84, of Wyomissing, Pa., passed away Oct. 31, 2014 at his residence.
A memorial service was held a St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, 2824 St. Alban’s Drive, Sinking Spring at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 6. The family received friends and family at church from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Inurnment will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at a later date.
Born in Penn Yan, he was the son of the late Alton and Josephine (Manley) Benedict. Mr. Benedict served in the U.S. Army and fought in the Korean War from1951 to 1954, where he achieved the rank of Corporal. Mr. Benedict was employed as a Regional Manager for Wenrich Painting Inc. of Ephrata. Donald was an avid golfer and spent a great deal of his time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Jean E. Benedict of Wyomissing; children, Donald Benedict of Denver, Pa., Linda Wunsch of West Lawn, and Diane Wenger of West Lawn; six grandchildren, Gregg Hart, Kimberly Hart, Erik Wenger, Donald Benedict, Casey Benedict, and Erin Wunsch; and seven great-grandchildren.
