The Abtex Corporation of Dresden has been acquired by The Malish Corporation of Ohio.
DRESDEN — Abtex, which produces customized, integrated machine and brush deburring solutions for the manufacturing industry, is a natural fit with Malish, which manufactures commercial and industrial brushes, custom plastic extrusions, and other speciality products. It is headquartered in Mentor, Ohio, with manufacturing operations there and in Dongguan, China and Wroclaw, Poland.
The deal was made Dec. 6 and announced later by President & CEO Jeffrey Malish. Malish was founded in 1945 by John and Pauline Malish, and remains a third-generation, family-owned business.
“The acquisition of Abtex Corporation further diversifies The Malish Corporation’s product offering,” says Malish. “The talent and resources provided by the acquisition will enhance the Malish Corporation’s and Abtex’s ability to provide the highest quality products and services to its customers. Abtex will remain a standalone entity with all employees remaining with the company. Jason Saner will continue as President to guide Abtex to new heights. Customers and suppliers should see no change in business operations. We look forward to working together now and into the future.”
Abtex President Jason Saner says, “This recent acquisition means little in the way of change for Abtex in that The Malish Corporation has made a long-term commitment to growing Abtex exactly where it is in Dresden. This promise from Jeff Malish (President and CEO), is a testament to the caliber of employees we have been able to attract and retain over the years, as well as a nod to the terrific job that Steve Griffin and his team at the Finger Lakes Economic Development Center have done, and to everyone else making this village such a great place to live! It is the continued coordination of business, schools, and local government which will ensure the steady influx of talent that is so necessary for growth.”
