Penn Yan Lacrosse Postseasons End in Semis

Boys Lacrosse June 9 NYS Tournament, Class D Semifinals Marcellus 7, Penn Yan 6 After another great season of lacrosse for Penn Yan Academy, the Mustangs’ postseason run came to an end with a loss to Marcellus in the State Semifinals. The game was a close battle that came down to literally the last minute, with Marcellus scoring the winning goal with 1:01 left on the clock.

Penn Yan Academy has had a remarkable end to the 2023 Spring athletic season, capturing Sectional titles in boys lacrosse, girls lacrosse, baseball (the first time in 40 years) and track and field. While the individual teams of course had ups and downs in their respective seasons, all four Penn Yan sports programs have big achievements to celebrate.

Class B4 at Dundee Logan Buchanan won the High Jump (6-02) and Long Jump (20-11.25); Hayden Erick won the Triple Jump (41-10) and took 2nd in the High Jump (6-00) and 2nd in the Long Jump (2000.75); Camden Buchanan took 3rd in the Triple Jump (38-07.50), 4th in the 100m (11.51), 4th in the Long Jump (19-06.75) and 5th in the Shot Put (38-08.25); Cam Rosemier took 3rd in the Pentathlon (2125 pts.); Logan Curtis took 6th in the 400m (55.31); Dundee/ Bradford took 4th in the 100m Relay (47.16) and 4th in the 800m Relay (9:35). Dundee/Bradford finished 3rd overall with 76 points.
