Three of Richard Brow’s four children were on hand April 29 for the dedication of a Red Maple tree that was planted in his memory at Penn Yan Elementary School on Arbor Day.

Members of the Penn Yan Elementary School Student Council presented information about Arbor Day and about Brow’s career in the Penn Yan Central School District. Brow was a teacher and principal at Dresden Elementary School and Penn Yan Elementary School from 1956 to 1986.

The placque, created by Penn Yan Academy technology students, says, “Those who plant a tree plant hope. Those who teach a child, ensure it.” His children who attended were Rhonda Brow Fritter (PYA Class of 1977), with her husband Mark and their son, Ben, Bob Brow (PYA Class of 1980), and Roger Brow (PYA Class of 1981).
