Local, state and federal candidates are expected to attend the annual Pig Roast at the Penn Yan Firemen’s Field
Yates County Chapter of SCOPE is holding its 14th annual Meet the Candidates pig roast on Aug. 27 at Firemen’s Field in Penn Yan. The event will run from 3 to 6 p.m. with the pig roast dinner being served at 4 p.m.
Candidates who are expected to attend are Yates County Court Judge candidates Matt Conlon, Jason Cook and Valerie Gardner; Supreme Court Judge candidate Charles Schiano; New York State Senator Tom O’Mara and his opponent Leslie Danks Burke; Assemblyman Phil Palmesano, running unopposed; Congressman Tom Reed and his opponent John Plumb; and U.S. Senate candidate Wendy Long. Long is challenging incumbent Sen. Charles Schumer, who is also invited.
This event will be emceed by Assemblyman Bill Nojay, and is one of the largest political events held in Yates County each year.
Peter Haidt, The Credibility Report host, will also give his political commentary. Tickets are $20 each which includes a drawing for a CVA muzzle loader. They are available on a presale basis by calling 585-554-6868. There may be limited tickets available at the door.
