Towns of Benton, Potter & Middlesex
The New York State Department of Transportation today announced that asphalt pavement overlay work will begin on State Route 364 on Monday, August 29, 2016, weather permitting. The project will extend from the intersection of State Route 364 and State Route 14A in the Village of Penn Yan to approximately 0.2 miles east of the intersection of State Route 364 and State Route 245 in the Town of Middlesex, for a total of approximately 11.9 miles. This scope of this project includes the towns of Benton, Potter, and Middlesex in Yates County.
Motorists will encounter flaggers, lane closures and could experience travel delays. It is imperative that motorists remember to drive carefully through the many highway and bridge construction zones they will encounter this season.
Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver’s license.
