A reception was held for Arc of Yates donors in July at the Agency’s program facility. Donors were recognized for their contributions, including funding and in-kind donations that allowed for a new green space adjacent to the 235 program center. The project gained traction when the Agency received $4,500 in grant funding from the Yates Community Endowment.
The two acre parcel, purchased after the flood in 2014 to complete flood mitigation, is being cleared to create a wheelchair accessible cinder trail. Additional plans include construction of a bridge, additional trails and natural enhancements. The woodlands are located in the middle of the village and will be usable by the community at large.
Individuals interested in supporting the project should contact Terry Freeman at 315-536-7447 ext. 196.
In addition to monetary donations, in-kind donations of stone, benches, and animal shelters are welcome.
