Lawrence A. Muscarella, 75, of Penn Yan, formerly of Elmira, unexpectedly passed away August 26, 2017.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday Aug. 30 at Weldon Funeral Home, 102 East Main St., Penn Yan. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 31 at St. Michael’s Church in Penn Yan. Burial will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Arrangements are by Weldon Funeral Home.
Lawrence (Larry) was born in Batavia, to Joseph and Josephine Muscarella Nov. 13, 1941. He was married to Kathleen Julia Mark. He graduated from Elmira College and worked at Thatcher Glass Co. and Glove House in Elmira.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Josephine Muscarella, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dr. James Mark and Katharine Murray Mark; his brother and sister-in-law, John and Deanna Muscarella; and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law James Mark and Anne Mark Longenecker.
Larry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Kathleen; his four children, Joseph and (Diana) Muscarella of Potomac, Md., Julie and (Edward) Dix of Paxton, Mass., Lisa and (David) Strong of Elmira, and Christine Crusoe of Franklinton, N.C.; sisters-in-law Roxanne Mark, Bernadette Macdonald, and Julie (Tom) McInerney; 10 grandchildren, Joshua Strong, Amanda Strong, Craig Dix, Emily Muscarella, Ryan Dix, Nicholas Muscarella, Katharine Dix, Patrick Muscarella, Sophia Crusoe, and Joseph Crusoe; great-grandson, Braedon Frabott; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Cardiac Rehab at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital in Penn Yan.
