One of the highlights of the annual StarShine holiday celebration in Penn Yan Saturday, Dec. 1 is the crowning of Miss Penn Yan. The 2019 Miss Penn Yan ceremony will begin at 5 p.m.

The evening will also include a variety of music, entertainment, colorful lights, treats, historic displays, an elf school, special sales, and the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus.

If Riley becomes Miss Penn Yan, her focus would be to ensure that our youth are healthy and safe within the community. Protecting our youth starts with mental health and awareness. In order to make Penn Yan a place where youth want to stay and raise families, we need to make sure they stay healthy and happy.
