The 2018 Christmas Program is wrapped up for the 2018 season, but volunteers at the organization are well on the way to preparing for a successful 2019 program.
The Yates Christmas Program benefitted from the generosity of three groups Dec. 17 when program director Donna Johnston received a check for $650 from three organizations and a 50/50 winner.
A $210 donation from Yates Next Gen (formerly Yates Young Professionals) grew when the Yates County Chamber of Commerce and Finger Lakes Economic Development Center added to the pot.
The Chamber of Commerce’s monthly Business After Hours 50/50 raffle was dedicated to the Christmas Program, and Kristen Burch, who won the drawing, returned her winnings to be given to the program as well.
Within minutes, the monthly Chamber of Commerce member drawing was held, and FLEDC’s name was drawn, and those funds were quickly added to the pot.
The Yates Christmas Program served 709 children and 302 families Dec. 5 and 6.
