Yates County has established a grant fund, made possible by a portion of the Occupancy Tax, to encourage, promote, maintain and preserve our Natural and Recreational Resources for current and future enjoyment of the people of Yates County.

This fund is available to non-profit private organizations and other municipal entities for the purposes of: protecting and preserving natural and recreational resources in Yates County, preserving and developing recreational trail corridors that cross municipal borders, and development of outdoor recreation facilities that are intended to serve all county residents.

Round 2 available funding is a total of $45,467.00. Single applicants are limited to a maximum funding request of 50 percent of the available grant fund in any year.

Deadlines for applications to be received is 4 p.m. Feb. 1, 2019.

Applications may be mailed to the Yates County Planning Department, Suite 1093, 417 Liberty St., Penn Yan, N.Y. 14527 or emailed to the Planner at: dlong@yatescounty.org. Applications received by this date will be reviewed and evaluated for qualification and potential award.

Final award terms and amounts may be subject to change at the discretion of the Grant Committee.

Applicants shall be informed of the status of award by April 10.
