Building a Polymer Clay Veneer
Students will learn how to build a colorful veneer with polymer clay at a workshop from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 9 at Arts Center of Yates County, 27 Main St., Penn Yan. They will roll, shape, carve, stamp, bake and drill that veneer into several pair of earrings and/or pendants. This class is for all skill levels and limited to 10 students. Instructor Janis Long. $40 for members, $48 for not-yet-members, $10 materials fee to instructor.
Fiction 101 - Setting
Fiction 101 w/ Keuka Writes will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 9 at Penn Yan Public Library, 214 Main St., Penn Yan. In this workshop, we’ll talk about the importance of setting—the backdrop against which your stories unfold. Weekend Double Feature
Award Winners will be shown from 2:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 9 at Penn Yan Public Library, 214 Main St., Penn Yan. Join us for a double feature of recently-honored films! These movies are destined for classic status. Cheese and Wine Pairing
Preferred Pairings on the Seneca Lake Wine Trail will be held March 9 at 10 participating wineries on the Seneca Lake Wine Trail. Preferred Pairings is a smaller, more intimate food and wine pairing event on the Seneca Lake Wine Trail. The wineries will pair up with local creameries to offer event attendees 3 to 4 unique cheese and wine pairings at each stop. Attendees will learn about how the wines are made, how the cheese are made, and what makes them so good together. Tickets are $25 per person for tickets that include wine tasting.
