The Crafty Quilters
The Crafty Quilters will meet at 2 p.m. March 12 at Fred & Harriett Taylor Memorial Library, 21 William St., Hammondsport. There is no fee and newcomers are welcome. Bring whatever sewing or quilting project you might be working on, or come for fresh ideas. The Crafty Quilters meet on the second Tuesday of the month.
Open-ended play for families or play with friends will be held at 3 p.m. March 12 at Dundee Library, 32 Water St., Dundee. Pick out your next read, challenge a friend to a game, color, play with the kitchen set, put together a puzzle, or create with our legos.
After School Library Club
The After School Library Club features cooking fun, tech times, and games will be held at 3:30 p.m. March 12 at Gorham Free Library, 2664 State Rte. 245, Gorham.
Alzheimer’s Association Community Education will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. March 12 at Penn Yan Public Library, 214 Main St., Penn Yan. Join us for another informational session on Alzheimer’s disease for caregivers and loved ones. Registration is required by calling 800-272-3900. Classes are free for care partners and those who are interested in information about Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Trees of Life
Trees of Life: Nuts in the Eastern US and their importance through time will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. March 12 at the Human Services Complex in Montour Falls in room 120. This workshop traces the importance of nut trees to ecological and social development in the northeastern U.S. from ancient times to visions of a sustainable future. The class is $20 and you must pre-register by March 8. Guest speaker Sam Bosco is a Ph.D. student in the Horticulture Section of the School of Integrated Plant Science at Cornell University where he studies the agricultural, social, and cultural dynamics of nut tree-based agroforestry in NY. Vaping & JUUL Forum
A Community Forum on Vaping & JUUL will be held at 6:30 p.m. March 12 at Marcus Whitman High School Library with Dr. Shaili Saini, of the University of Rochester Prevention Medicine Department. The discussion will include information about E-Cigarettes, Vaping & JUUL use becoming epidemic among teens.
Fiber Night will be held at 6:30 p.m. March 12 at Gorham Free Library, 2664 State Rte. 245, Gorham. Bring your current knitting, hooking, or whatever project, and join fellow crafters for a community craft time.
